Planning the #FHGardenTeaParty

If you follow my Instagram, you saw that last week I hosted the #FHGardenTeaParty at my home for a group of Miami Influencers and Bloggers. I figured I would take a second and clarify that I am not a “Party Planner” but rather that I simply LOVE hosting parties, especially ones at my house, so I try to host a little something every two months or so. Well, since the party came out SO pretty, and so many of you have asked about my “event planning” process, I wanted to share a little peek into the “behind the scenes” that happens in my office when I am planning one of my events… and, it always starts with a mood board.

In creating an event board, I can see how everything will come together at the event; it keeps me in check ensuring that the event is consistent in style and aesthetic throughout. I can’t tell you how many times I walk into a flower shop and start pulling flowers I think are “pretty” but then get out my photos from my inspiration board and realize I was going wayyy off track. {Sometimes I even pick an exact arrangement to copy to make it super simple!}. Throughout the mood board process  I am constantly swapping photos in and out, until I feel I know exactly what I want.

Once I have my mood board and theme, I try and find the perfect brands to bring this party to life. So for my #FHGardenTeaParty, I partnered with Harney & Sons for the most delicious selection of teas {their tea canisters are so pretty and became a fun decoration element as well}, Spindrift Sparkling Water for both light and refreshing sips as well as the perfect mixer for my poolside cocktails, and Lenox for gorgeous floral tea pots and dishes. To compliment these brands, I chose an array of healthy foods for lunch and I created bright and whimsical floral arrangements.

Well, you got a sneak peek on social but I can’t wait to share the full reveal here on the blog in a few days, so stay tuned! I think my mood board prevailed!
