1. Strawberry and Shredded Mozzarella Salad

Strawberry & Mozzarella Salad by The Fashionable Hostess

I am not usually one to put fruit in my salads, but with my recent overwhelming sweet tooth {thanks pregnancy!} I was hoping to satisfy it with something other than dessert! And what I especially love about this specific recipe is that while most salads with cheese and nuts are on the fattening side, this one you can sit back and enjoy without worrying because it’s a simple {low-cal} Balsamic Vinegar dressing! *Added perk: I also recommend this recipe for kids! The combo of bright colors, fruit, and sweet taste really distract from the whole ‘salad’ idea! So for whoever your guests may be, I hope you enjoy this easy mix!!

    • 2 cups of chopped mushrooms

  2. Inexpensive Centerpiece Idea

Here is a flashback to a table I styled in Miami while staying at my mom’s house for the Holidays {see another table I did here}. While working with my mom’s stunning dining room and endless collection of placemats and dishware was beyond fun, it had it’s drawbacks when it came to my centerpieces. No longer a local to the Miami scene, I wasn’t sure of the best flower shops to head to, PLUS I wasn’t looking to splurge on crazy expensive flowers when I wouldn’t be sticking around long after the Holidays to enjoy them. I decided that using…

  3. Baby Essentials: 12 months

As we near the end of January, I am almost able to say I have survived, thrived, and everything in between when it comes to making it through your first year of motherhood. Reese will be 1 on January 31st and gosh doesn’t her birth seem like just yesterday? Ah!! Well, I know I put together some useful guides to babies along the way… from planning a beautiful baby shower, to packing your hospital bag and planning your take home from the hospital outfit, to decorating your nursery (gender neutral and baby girl), to essentials for the first several months,…

  4. Host a Celebratory Dinner

Promotion? Birthday? Pregnancy Announcement? There are so many reasons to throw a celebratory dinner, and what better way todo it than with a table that really sparkles. The key to execution? Changing it up, gold accent dishware, and lots of candles. I headed to my mom’s house to get started… Changing it up: I decided to change things up by placing my napkin in a stylish new way. I took a printed floral napkin and folded in thirds. After placing my placemats and silver chargers on the table, I laid the napkin down the center of the charger with 1/3 of the…

  5. Asian Glazed Salmon

Over the Holidays I am sure you saw from my Instagram that I spent a good deal of time defrosting in Miami… I know, rough life. Added to the perk of outdoor strolls with Reese and wearing denim shorts in December, was getting together with some of my best friends who I spent the first 18 years of my life growing up with. One of these beloved Yaya Sisterhood members is Morgan… you may remember her from this FH post. She is a FABULOUS cook and currently slaving away in her residency (so I am not sure what hours she…
