Tea Time on the Patio

As the warmer temperatures begin to arrive, what could be nicer than hosting friends for a lovely tea time (or in my case, coffee time) on the patio. I created this table because I had a meeting scheduled to discuss an upcoming event, and decided rather than meet at a coffee shop, I would have the guests over to my house for our brainstorm session.

When my guests arrived, they immediately said, “you shouldn’t have gone through all this trouble” but I quickly assured them it was nothing! So here are my little tricks to pulling this off in no time!!

Step one: Get out your teacups and saucers (that I know most of you save for “special occasions!”). Matching sets really dress up a table, and sipping from a glass teacup feels so refined! What I love about this Villeroy & Boch china in particular is that it is perfect for every day use or special occasions. Perfect for Spring time gatherings (and Easter which is around the corner!), the Basket Garden Collection has that traditional charm that goes well in any setting.

Step two: Go Faux! I have spoken a bit lately about my new love of faux florals from AFloral.com and these Lilac Artificial Flowers in white work perfectly for any outdoor centerpiece (on a coffee table or dining table). Best of all, they will last all season long!!

Step 3: Keep your menu super simple!! I set out scones and muffins and a pot of tea and some fresh brewed coffee with milks and sugars and that’s it, and guests were so appreciative!

I love making everyday events just a bit more special than guests had anticipated!! Shop my items below:
