New Look in our Breakfast Nook

A Round Table for intimate Meals

This past year we started a family tradition of sitting together every Sunday for dinner. The week nights can get hectic and late, so it’s finally a chance to slow down and enjoy our meal. We talk about our favorite thing that happened that week, we give “awards” or “snaps” for things we thought the kids did well (and the kids give us awards as well!), we talk about the upcoming week and carpools and sporting events, and truly, it’s become a highlight that we and the kids look forward to.

We used to have a rectangular dining table in this space, but I thought to myself, such an intimate dinner warranted a more intimate setting, so I decided to swap for something round. While I am always one to choose white, I fell in love with this light oak table I found on Wayfair. The base is a super cool design and the color is just right (here is a similar option!).

For chairs I wanted something easy to clean, low back (to not obstruct the view to the backyard), and light in color to match the table. I chose these Atticus Cane Chairs.

I am excited to share a look at the new space (which I decorated for Fall!) and it could not be more perfect. It’s a bit more modern and cool than I would usually choose (which I am actually proud of myself for going with!). The cushion-less chairs has been sooo practical with my young kids, and the table has become a favorite of the whole family.

In the backdrop, I also hung a brand new mirror, the Carlotta Rectangular Mirror, from Ballard Designs. I love how it reflects the pretty built-ins in our family room, as well as the light from our backyard.

Looking forward to many Sunday nights cozied around this table.
