So it’s been FOREVER since I posted a beauty article on my blog, but truthfully I am a beauty junkie at heart. I live for products; I have my Sunday night facemasks, my bi-weekly hair masks, own about 5 de-puff eye creams, and am a sucker for the latest in bronzers. So today I wanted to share a bit of what I am loving for Summer for any of you who have that same affinity for self-care.
Face
Clarisonic Mia Brush: A mini of the original Clarisonic, it is great for traveling! With just one speed, I use it daily to really remove makeup (which is especially important in the Summer when I have been wearing makeup all day, managed to get hot and sweat, and need an extra deep clean before bed!!)
Neocutis Products: I got hooked on this line of skin products last year (and my sister-in-law who is a dermatologist agrees they are the best!!). I love the NEO•CLEANSE Exfoliating Skin Cleanser as my daily cleanser and the MICRO•DAY as my day cream (a multi-functional cream that helps restore moisture and provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 sun protection). I find having an SPF in my moisturizer is just the way to go this time of year and ensures I am getting sun protection daily!
Garnier SkinActive Miscellar Cleansing Water: My go-to makeup remover for eyes and face makeup (and the best part is you don’t HAVE to wash your face after and just want to hit the sack! Haha- fellow mammas you know what I mean!). Oh, and they even sell mini bottles which are perfect for travel!
Jade Face Roller: While I sometimes forget to use it, I do love my new Jade Roller and find it to be super relaxing. Meant to help your skin maintain healthy blood circulation, boost natural collagen, and reduce puffiness and wrinkles, I definitely am trying to make this a consistent part of my nightly routine!
Hair
Kerastase Products: I am loving the Kerastase Reflection Collection of Shampoos & Conditioner because they are sulfate-free (great for my hair which I got treated with keratin for the first time about a month ago) and a recommend line for color-treated hair because it protects and maintains your color. I love (especially in the summer!) the Kerastase Elixir Ultime Oil because it controls frizz and makes your hair look smooth. I apply 2-3 pumps into damp hair before blow drying and then another pump or two onto my dry hair to give it that extra shine!
DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo: Fellow blondes who want your blowout to look fresh 2-3 days later, must BUY this product! Lightweight and easy to use, the spray micro powder blends perfectly leaving no white residue like the powder dry shampoos… and the smell is SO GOOD!!
Barefoot Blonde Hair Sweethearts: As a follower of the blogger AmberFillerup, who has the most gorgeous thick long hair, and now has a line of hair extensions, I saw she came out with these Strawberry Flavored Biotin Gummies (that contain Biotin, Vitamin C and Vitamin E to promote the growth of healthy skin, hair and nails). I bought them and now take two every afternoon… I have to say they are SO delicious that I feel like they are an afternoon dessert, so I love that I am getting vitamins and fulfilling a little sweet tooth.
Makeup
Urban Decay ‘Sun-Kissed’ Bronzer: If you want a bronzer that literally makes you look sun-kissed, straight off the beach, fresh off the boat glowy, BUY THIS! Oh, and the packaging is so fun and summer-y!
L’Oreal True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer: I love highlighter on my cheek bones for that dewy glow on a summer nights, and I love that this lightweight lotion hydrates and illuminates skin with a slight color tint (almost like a creme blush but better!). I apply it over my foundation in the evening, or will even just put a little on over my tinted moisturizer if I am going to be running around in athleisure all day but want a hint of color on my cheeks!
And a few more necessities
Jo Malone “Blossom Collection”: These adorable neon bottles smell as good as they look. The Plum Blossom Limited Edition Cologne is actually my scent obsession this summer!! Be sure to check out this trio of limited edition asap whether you need a new scent or want a fab gift for a summer hostess.
Kate Summerville Tan Towels: These towelettes have been my go-to tanning method for years!! I actually don’t spray tan before events (not even weddings!), I just use these!! They are AMAZING. Just open a full body towel and apply to skin after the shower. Wipe your entire body (don’t forget in between toes, behind your knees, and I even do my face!). Allow to dry for 15 minutes and then head to bed. In the morning I usually shower because of the faint smell, and ta-da, TAN! I will say before a wedding I will do two nights in a row of towels – ie. Thursday and Friday night before bed to look extra tan on Saturday!
