Designing Dane’s New Nursery

Nursery Design

This past month we re-located and re-designed Dane’s room. We had a small sitting area next to Reese and Brooks’s room that if we enclosed, could be the perfect small bedroom for Dane (and give him a jack and Jill bathroom and closet with his brother). It seemed like the perfect win win situation and the chance to gain an extra room in our house (since we gave up my husband’s office when he was born!).

Today I wanted to share the inspiration board I created when planning his new room. Since the space is small, I thought it was important to make it super bright and colorful. That’s where the Annie Selke Chinois Lattice French Blue wallpaper came in. I knew that bright walls would have a huge impact. I also chose a beautiful plush blue rug from Annie Selke.

Next was new furniture. I really wanted toy storage for the room so I loved the Quinn Cubby Storage by DUCDUCNYC. I also decided to update our changing table to a classic white design.

Decor… the most talented artist Sally McBride, who coincidentally I went to college with (Yay Brown!!), made me the two most fabulous pieces from her collection “The Letter Nest” for Dane’s nursery. Her Animal Alphabet and a custom “Name” Drawing with Dane’s Name in the shape of Tractors (Dane’s obsession!!). Then I love supporting a good cause (especially when you get the cutest gifts in exchange) so I bought Dane a few more Cuddle & Kind Dolls to match his room. Buying 1 doll provides 20 meals for children in need!!

The finishing touch was the Serena & lily Headlands Pendant!! I can’t wait to share the finished look!!
