Lusting for a quick update to your coffee table {see my last look here}? Look no further than your bookshelves! Grab a group of four hardcover books and stack them on your table {spine facing outward}. Have a color theme in mind so they sit well together; then match back to these colors by picking up some fresh complimentary flowers. In the summer I love to display books in an array of colors and then match back to wild flowers.

A fun idea: Choose your books wisely! When hosting guests, pick a genre of books that can lend to great conversation, whether it be travel, food, or art! Some of my coffee table book favorites are by American photographer Slim Aarons who shoots gorgeous people and places like Capri {shop below}.

To complete the look, I placed a modern-style Alessi bowl alongside my flowers and books. Don’t own a funky bowl? Simply fill a neutral colored bowl with bright colored fruit and you are done!

  1. […] This past Wednesday I attended an exclusive Baccarat event celebrating the official book launch of Baccarat: Two Hundred and Fifty Years at their Flagship store in NYC. Author and renowned design aficionado Murray Moss was present greeting guests and signing books, while the most gorgeous wait staff passed champagne and delicious hors d’oeuvres… caviar being my favorite. Already incredibly familiar with the line from my wedding registry {you may have recognized one of their vases in this post and this post}, I was excited to be visiting a store with endless sparkles. The crowd was just as exciting and energetic as the backdrop. Guests were decked in fur and diamonds and to name drop a few socialites and top designers… Aviva Drescher, Geoffrey Bradfield, Stephen Burks, Robert Couturier, Rafael de Cardenas, Guillaume Gentet, Shawn Henderson, Amy Lau, Vicente Wolf, and Amanda Gluck {oh hey that’s me!} were there to toast the occasion. I recommend you get your hands on this stunning book… it would be the perfect one to display on your coffee table {inspiration for styling here}. […]
