1. Fall Transitions

    Fall Transitions

As the seasons have started to change from warm Summer to cool Fall, I like to wake up each morning and check the weather before I begin my journey of getting dressed. Every day this week I woke up to find low of 50 and high of 72. Now I have to say that this is an incredibly wide range making it very challenging for a fashionista to get dressed. Even though I can tell on my iPhone that it will rise to 60 by 11:00 and then 67 by 1:00, I am concerned I may still have a chill from the morning walk or be sweating loathing the fact that I chose leather. So what to wear on days like these that’s in trend but covers all aspects of the weather? My go-to wardrobe {which suits a day of meetings or a day of shopping} has become a warm over-sized vest, silk blouse, skinny pants, and smoking flats. The vest provides just the right amount of warmth in the AM but can easily come off for that mid-day high. *Note: tight form-fitting jackets and vests are out, while ones that look a size too big or “balloon-shape” are all the rage. {Mine is from Drew which I got at Intermix.} For the shoes I have this amazing pair, the Riley Slipper by Johnston & Murphy. I love how the “traditional look” totally makes your outfit look polished and poised while the mens-wear cut is so on trend. *Note: rounded ballet flats are SO last season. Plus I am also in love with the velvet and embroidery detail.

So whatever the weather may be, don’t let it slow you down! Time to hit the ground running for a busy day!

  2. Quinoa Kale Cakes

My two favorite ingredients meshed into one delicious side dish; the perfect party pleaser that covers your grains and vegetable categories! Enjoy! Quinoa Kale Cakes Ingredients: 1 cup quinoa 2 cups water 4 eggs, whisked 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese 3 spring onions, sliced thin 1 cup steamed kale, chopped 1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs 1 teaspoon olive oil Salt and Pepper to taste Quinoa Kale Cakes Instructions: Step 1: Make your Quinoa {which I did early this morning so I had time for it to cool before beginning the recipe!}. 3. 8 Month Baby: Sunday Roof deck Chilling

Suburban moms hang in their backyards, city moms hang on their roof decks. Oh the life of a New Yorker! My group of mommy friends from Baby Yoga {yes, this exists and is fabulous – we do Karma Kids} has started a play date rotation where every few weeks a mom hosts the other moms and babies for lunch and playtime. I hosted mine at my apartment {recap HERE} but since the summer weather is coming to an end my friend Samantha decided to host a sunset get-together on her roof and include the hubbies as well. The babies had a blast…

  4. Cozy Chic

Most days I spend running around like a mad-woman … cleaning the apartment and setting the table for dinner… then plopping down on to the floor to play with the baby… then out to the grocery to pick up food… then running to my computer to post a blog article while the baby naps… then off to music class {once again on the floor}with the baby… a quick coffee/ meeting on the way home… then rushing into the kitchen to take something out of the oven… then straight into dinner with my husband and guests. Getting dressed in tight skinny jeans…

  5. Endermologie at Smooth Synergy

Calling all women suffering from cellulite or bloat… a cure has been found (and it’s not hours in the gym and days of starvation!!) Doing a double take? Nixing the fat without endless work? Sounds impossible! I was skeptical too when I was invited by the Smooth Synergy Spa in NYC to come and test out their Endermologie/ Lipomassage which reduces cellulite, contours the body and muscles, increases circulation, and detoxes toxins. While I am a pretty thin gal and cellulite isn’t much of a problem for me, I had just spent the few days prior to my appointment drinking…
