New Years Appetizers

with Whole Foods

The Fanciest New Years Spread

This year we are hosting a small get together for New Years Eve at my house so I wanted to create a fancy appetizer display to welcome guests. I collaborated with Whole Foods for the occasion – which carries all of my favorite decadent appetizer essentials. Here is a look at what I am serving…

Caviar Blinis

When I think of fancy appetizers I immediately think of Caviar. These Blinis which are basically mini pancakes are a crowd pleaser and look incredibly elegant. To make… purchase a package of blinis, top with a teaspoon of Crรจme Fraรฎche, then top with a small slice of Salmon (notice I folded a small piece in half), top with a 1/2 teaspoon of caviar and finish of with a tiny sprig of fresh dill. I recommend serving on a tray in organized rows. Be sure to make these right before guests arrive (don’t allow to sit out too long before serving!!).

This marble footed board is from West Elm.

Shrimp Cocktail Cups

I love Shrimp Cocktail appetizers, so I thought individual sized cups would make for the perfect party treat. I started by placing cocktail sauce in small serving cups (my secret ingredient – mix with a hint of hot sauce!!). Next place two shrimps on the rim of each glass as well as a small lemon wedge. Whole Foods carries fresh shrimp or frozen shrimp (less expensive but still delicious) which unthaws incredibly quickly in a bowl of water. Make these ahead of time and store in a refrigerator up until party time!!

These gorgeous gold and marble servers are from Frontgate.

Champagne Tower

Of course New Years requires the most delicious Bubbly and Whole Foods carries a wide variety of wines and champagnes. I chose the De chanceny Brut Cremant De Loire which has a bubbly floral finish and pairs incredibly well with cheese and raw seafoods. To wow guests, I created a champagne tower with Coupe Glasses – very Marie Antoinette, right?!

These Coupe Glasses are from Pottery Barn.

Cheers to bringing in 2020 in style!!
