What better way to kick off the weekend than to host a delicious brunch for friends! For today’s spread I envisioned a scenario where a group of girlfriends and myself just got done with a spin class and we want to head back to my place for a healthy and delicious breakfast. On the menu… Gluten-free Organic Bran Muffins from the Farmers Market, Home-made Yogurt Parfaits, and then for drinks – hot coffee and Blood Orange Juice! {I have been on a Blood Orange Juice kick ever since making these Margaritas}.
To re-create this spread, I recommend using lots of color! Start by taking a bright table cloth or an array of colorful placemats and lay on your table. Next create ‘stations’ for each of the items you plan to serve. Start with your drinks station – of course serve water, but then also choose a sweet refreshing beverage like orange juice, apple juice, or lemonade. I hate putting a store-bought carton on the table, so I always transfer my drinks into a carafe. Alongside my juice, I placed these adorable Orange Juice glasses from Bed Bath and Beyond and striped yellow straws. For my second drinks station, I did a coffee bar. I served hot coffee in C Wonder Ikat Mugs and placed stirring spoons, sugars, and milk alongside them. For food I placed muffins on a white cake stand and then small desert plates alongside them so people could serve themselves. Lastly I wanted to make something – so I made individual Yogurt Parfaits served in mason jars with long ice cream spoons.
Before guests arrive double check that each station is fully equipped with utensils so you don’t have to go back into the kitchen while people are indulging. Lastly, a bright vase like this Pink Patterned Jonathan Adler one with fresh simple flowers will complete the look! Now all that’s left is surviving the early workout because breakfast is set!
