Highlights of 2017

What a Year! I wanted to take a moment to reflect because 2017 was an incredible year both for our family and for Fashionable Hostess. I cannot thank you all enough for following along on all of these amazing adventures and milestones! Here are some of the highlights from 2017…

We started the year with Brooks transitioning from a baby nursery and crib to a toddler room thanks to the help of RH Baby & Child! The room came out stunning and was featured on Project Nursery, Style Me Pretty and more! Here is a look at his room.

Then being ask to partner with Bed Bath & Beyond, sharing my Wedding Registry selects, as well as taking over their Instagram, was such a “pinch me” moment. How in the world did a huge company like Bed Bath & beyond even know I exist?! Haha. But seriously, choosing my favorite pieces from their enormous store was like a little kid being let loose in a candy shop. See the post recapping my picksย here.

For Valentine’s Day I created the “sweetest” {yes, pun intended} display that was featured on Martha Stewart!! It’s probably one of my favorite posts of the year because as much as I try to branch out, I am truly a pink girl at heart. See the post here.

For Reese’s 4th Birthday I created the most adorable Princess party, a party we will never forget {and are still recovering from!}. I truly made the backyard magical with floating lanterns, princesses, and endless customized treats. Amazingly, this party was also featured on Martha Stewart! See the party {with the most insane cake!} here.

Living in Miami, your backyard is like a second living room, so I was thrilled when Frontgate partnered to “make over” my patio space right before Spring entertaining began, and gosh it came out dreamy!! I am officially obsessed with outdoor rugs! See the full tour here.

After an amazing summer vacation it was time to head back to school and I was so excited that Pottery Barn Kids partnered with me for all the essentials. Backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, and everything embroidered, it was a “mom dream” come true! See here for a look at all the back-to-school pieces we chose!

Then nesting mode kicked in… it was time to decorate a gender neutral nursery for Baby #3. {We always leave the sex as a surprise which is difficult but beyond exciting}. See Dane’s nursery which I decorated thanks to the help of endless baby brands!

Then my favorite event of the year… the #FHBabySprinkle! A “sprinkle” party {aka a baby shower for baby #3} with my closest girlfriends celebrating the upcoming addition. The theme was Hot Air Balloons in a mix of pink and blues. The girls wore all white and we had the best dessert table a pregnant girl could ask for! See the pretty party here.

Then one last photoshoot before the baby… Lilly Pulitzer asked the FH family to be the premier family in their limited edition men and boys collection. My husband rarely gets in our photos, so I couldn’t help but laugh when I got their big email blast with his face splashed across their homepage on launch day! I have to say I love these photos of Reese and Brooks!

On August 31st we welcomed Baby #3, Baby Dane. Dane came a few weeks early and spent the first two weeks of his life in the NICU, which I must admit was a life altering experience and gave me a new perspective on appreciating good health. Four months later as we head into 2018, Dane could not be more perfect. He is chunky, happy, healthy, giggly, and honestly the easiest of all my children. I am definitely still adjusting to having three and finding a work / life balance, but hopefully all will start smoothing over in the new year!

Last but not least, this Fall I created one of my most highly “pinned” tables to date, a Thanksgiving tablescape for Villeroy & Boch. I have to admit that I didn’t exactly have a plan as I began assembling the centerpiece, but it somehow came together beautifully and elegantly! See the whole post here.

Well, I must say it’s been an incredible year!! Thank you to everyone who has followed along!! Looking forward to an amazing 2018!
