Garden Inspired Tablescape for Spring

Just the other day I shared a photo of this “garden-inspired” tablescape on my instagram that I created last Spring in collaboration with Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day. When I created the original post I spoke mostly about the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Products I used to “prep” for my outdoor party and less about the table itself. Well, after the various direct messages and comments I received in my re-share, I thought I would take today’s post to highlight all of the beautiful, and actually really simple elements I used to bring this table to life.

A fantastic table for any Spring party, be it a family gathering for lunch or even something more upscale like the “oh-so trending” garden party, this table is full of no-fuss florals and greens that I picked up at my local plant nursery and placed in simple pots! Here is a closer look…

A few tablescape details… I chose neutral and natural hyacinth round placemats, which I layered under classic white plates, simple gold flatware, and acrylic water and wine glasses which are my go-to for entertaining outdoors {similar and similar}. The finishing touch was my grandmother’s collection of bright floral napkins {similar}! I love pairing simple plates with bight floral napkins for Spring, and here I tried to choose napkins that tied back in color to my flowers, so the purple and green worked perfectly.

Then for the plants I chose… The pretty purple flowers in the center of my table are called Angelonia, which I placed in medium sized terra cotta clay pots. Then scatted around them I placed Livingston Daisy ‘Mezoo’ greens in smaller terra cotta clay pots. I placed the pots very close together down the center of my table, creating a lush center piece.

To coordinate back to the plants I wanted to make a little something special, so an over-the-top floral “naked” cake seemed like the perfect match! {Head to this post for a super easy step-by-step tutorial on how to made the cake at home!}.

A few details on my outdoor furniture because you are always asking…. my Dining Table & Chairs are the Frontgate Emerson Collection {they sell the table and chairs as a complete set of 7 pieces – with the two head chairs – it’s honestly an amazing collection and so comfortable! I have had the set for over a year now and we love entertaining outside with it}. I do love to put a little accent pillow at the head chairs to make it look updated season to season {these featured are from the Frontgate outdoor pillow section}. Then lastly, the light fixtures on my patio are the Darlana Medium Lanterns in Gilded Iron.

Hope you enjoyed looking back and have found a bit of inspiration. We sure are looking forward to some fun weekends ahead under the patio!
