Dining Room Makeover

Over the last six months I have been wanting to give my dining room a fresh look, so with Spring time approaching I knew it would be the perfect time to take on the challenge. The goal: swap a few “darker” pieces for “lighter” tones, while keeping the room traditional and elegant. Here is a before of the room for reference. The two key pieces I chose to focus on were 1. the side board (buffet table) and 2. the dining chairs.

My buffet is used on a daily basis to display flowers and decorative accents, and when I entertain, it is a place where I display drinks and desserts, so size was as important as looks. Elegant Dining Chairs

Next on my list were the dining chairs. I knew I wanted a lighter color while keeping with the grey family, and of course something elegant, so I fell head over heels for the regal look of the Porto Dining Chairs from Frontgate. Crafted of solid hardwood with a wood border frame and upholstered in performance fabric that resists stains and repels water and oils, they are beautiful and functional for a big family like ours!!
