Healthy Recipes

to Make during Social Distancing

Healthy Recipe Ideas during this Whirl Wind Time

Its truly a crazy time… so crazy that at times I have gone to pinch myself. Is this really happening? Are we really social distancing? How long will this go on? Will my family be safe? How many people will get sick? So much of the unknown is concerning but what I do know is that I need to take the reigns on what I can control. Staying home. Washing Hands. And staying Sane. I am continuing todo things that I love as well as help me distract, like re-decorating spaces in my house and finding new recipes to make with the kids.

A lot of you have messaged me that you and your kids have been snacking nonstop (I am also guilty!!) and need some healthy options. So today I wanted to share some recipes from the FH archive that you guys can make during this time at home. All taste-tested and approved. And hopefully during this time at home, you can perfect these recipes so you can whip them up for guests once this all comes to an end.

Here’s to staying positive and healthy!!

Guacamole Spinach Artichoke Dip

All the creaminess of guacamole but lots of added veggies. Perfect for dipping with fresh veggies or chips. Find this recipe here

Chipotle Hummus Dip

Hummus with a kick! Again, perfect with veggies which is what I am trying todo more snacking on!! Find the recipe here.

Strawberry & Chia Seed Parfait

Sometimes I find myself craving something sweet mid-day, so rather than grabbing chocolate, I love these parfaits. They are full of fiber, antioxidants, iron, and calcium. Find the recipe here.

Mango Salsa Cups

Salsa packs a ton of flavor and little calories. This home-made version is a tad sweet which I love. I like pre-serving (for portion control) with a few chips! (Also great on a salad.) Find the recipe here.

Quinoa Kale Cakes

This is one of my favorite dinner side dishes, and also make for a great “next day” snack!! (I love that the kale taste is totally hidden from the kids too!) Find the recipe here.

Strawberry Mango Yogurt Popsicles

Only 100 calories and made with natural sweeteners, this is such a fun DIY with the kids. Perfect for an afternoon snack or after-dinner dessert. See the recipe here.
