I am truly in love with this week’s garden party tabletop, and I have to say that the flowers are really the focal point bringing the whole look together. Inspired by an array of Spring floral arrangements I found on Pinterest, I reached out to my friend Carly {follow her at @Carlyragosta) to help me bring my vision to life. In awe of her flower market finds, I had to have her break down the look so we {yes, you and I!} can re-create them in the future. Thankfully she put together an easy shopping list to help us out… and since this isn’t my first rodeo, I figured I would share a few tips from flower arranging on the regular. So here we go….
- What are the stunning flowers in these arrangements? Peach Anemones, Iris, Ranunculus, Lisianthus, and Ixia. Not featured were English Garden Roses in a different picture on my table, which are also a favorite flower of mine. Whether you plan to buy them individually or arrange a few together, you are bound to create something stunning!
- Ok so you want to create this at home? We used 2 low round vases {this for the larger and this for the smaller}. Carly started with the larger of the vases and arranged the larger blooms first, then slowly added in the more delicate ones and the greenery. Personally I always like my arrangements in clusters of 2, so for the smaller vase we just did a few sprigs of ixia to compliment in color.
- We used small vases that were tight and compact so the flowers weren’t too flimsy. If you are struggling to keep flowers in their place, consider picking up a flower foam from your local flower shop or craft store. Just be careful with foam because if you aren’t super careful you can break stems along the way!
- Still nervous about where to place certain flowers? Make sure to have your inspiration photos {wink wink this post will do!} handy. I created an entire Floral Inspiration Board on Pinterest that I use {in all seriousness, “copy”} weekly to create flower arrangements for my tables. I update my board almost daily with new seasonal flowers in different color palettes, so it’s a great place to find inspiration if you are looking!
- Lastly, you spent all this money and time on your flowers so you want them to last! Ask your florist for flower food or follow some at-home-remedies here.
