1. Updating my Kitchen with the Adorne Collection by Legrand

This week I got started on my Spring Cleaning and I wanted to focus on the most popular room in the house, my kitchen. Out with the old… chipped dishes, left-over Holiday decor, the list went on. One swap that I hadn’t considered for my todo list, but quickly realized was essential, was switching out my old electrical plates and light switches. When I updated the kitchen when I moved into the house last year, I switched the pendant lights and the cabinet pulls, but I actually never thought to update the light switches, thus leaving older, chunky switches on my beautiful white walls. It was’t until I came across the Adorne Collection by Legrand that I realized how cool and sleek light switches could be, with the added perk of being technologically advanced. I am excited to share a look at my “ready for Spring” kitchen and a look at some of the adorne collection I selected.

Ok so starting with my adorne collection updates… I went from very outdated light switches and plates to sleek and cool ones called the Whisper Switch. The coolest part is that the Wi-Fi Ready Whisper Switch and Dimmer allow you to control all the lighting right from your phone or tablet!! You can turn off every light from bed, or even program settings for “morning time” or “date night” which automatically sets the mood for your room. As a hostess on the regular, this is perfect for all my entertaining nights!

Now a few decor swaps I made to my kitchen to make it Spring-ready!! First, I wanted a bright centerpiece for my kitchen island, so I used oversized ginger jars to house two large floral arrangements. I just love the freshness of the blue hydrangea. Then along my backsplash I decorated with lots of pastels. I displayed bright and colorful coffee table books, my aqua kitchen aid mixer, and even a new print from GrayMalin. In another corner of my kitchen I displayed a cluster of Pellegrino bottles, a fab budget friendly decor trick. Then my kids love their mini kitchen, so I set out a mini cake stand of little pastry cakes and even a few tiny arrangements.

I hope this post inspires you to get started on some Spring cleaning and updates of your own!

  2. Gold Home Accessories

When we began the decorating process for our home we realized that nearly every fixture, from a doorknob to a sink faucet, was gold. A lover of the finish I was thrilled to pick out furniture pieces with gold hardware and light fixtures with gold chains. But of course most of all I loved hunting for a whole new slew of accessories {I have so many more display shelves in our living room and dining room it is crazy!}. So here are some of the pieces I have purchased as well as a few things I am eyeing! Happy Shopping!

  3. Ginger Jar Wish List

Ever since I shared Kelley Nan’s summer tablescape that featured a gorgeous floral centerpiece in an oversized Ginger Jar, I have been on the hunt for Ginger Jars of my own! I scoured the internet and found so many good ones, from Furbish Studio which has great classic Chinese society and landscape ones for $60 {here}, to Williams Sonoma which has a wide assortment in size and colors (some red, some blue, some grey!) from $60-$250 {here}. Then Design Darling has the cutest Ginger Jar themed accessories, from $10 Ginger Jar match boxes {here} to Ginger Jar prints for only $25 {here}! Shop more finds…

  4. Boll & Branch Bedding

When I think about the place my family spends the most time, sure enough our master bed is hands down the most popular spot. It’s where we cuddle up for episodes of Daniel Tiger or Dora the Explorer before bed, it’s the spot for afternoon books and stories, and it’s the “saftey” when we play a wild and crazy game of tag. Pretty much every morning and every night begins and ends with all four of us cuddled close. So when I decided to make a few New Years refreshers, like I did in my office {here}, I also decided todo the…

  5. Coffee Table Books for Spring

Coffee table books are probably my favorite decorative item. Whether it’s a heaping pile on a bookshelf or few with assorted colored spines on a console, they allows guests to peek into your world just that little bit, sharing your interests and aspirations. Because I am always looking to add to my endless collection, I wanted to share a few on my wish list for Spring, as well as a few of my all-time favorites. On my wish list: Assouline’s In the Spirit of Napa Valley, The Big Book of the Hamptons and Gypset Travel because when Spring hits I immediately get the itch for Summer…
