1. Dane’s Grey & White Nursery

The nursery is complete and came out more serene then I could have ever imagined! Planning a nursery when you don’t know the sex can be tough so I stuck with a very neutral palette working with hues of grey! The end result though came out so beautiful, perfectly gender neutral, and calming {essential with a newborn!}!! Since shooting the room we had our little angel, baby Boy Dane, so now we can easily add pops of blue when the baby comes home.

In case you forgot, this room used to be my office {see the tour here}. I had no drapery, a different light fixture, and clearly, no baby furniture, so there was a lot to be done.

My inspiration began when I came across the Franklin & Ben Everly Crib and Amelia Double Dresser. Perfectly neutral with beautiful detailing, I loved the pieces right away. I then found this gorgeous persian rug on Overstock {the Overstock NuLoom rug}; it really influenced the grey feel in the room and since it was so large {7’10” x 10′}, it covered most of the dark wood floor. Then the simple but elegant Textured Shade Light Fixture from Land of Nod felt much more appropriate for a baby’s room than my previous light fixture. But the most important element of all was the stunning drapery I chose from The Shade Store. I absolutely love the windows in this room and did not want to hide them completely, but of course needed a blackout solution for the baby’s early bedtime and naps. I ended up choosing Pinch Pleat Drapes with a beautiful Ivory Linen Scatter Dot Fabric {from the Kate Spade Collection – here} with a black out lining, which was hung from a stainless steel bar. The Shade Store was more than a pleasure to work with through the process, helping with renderings, understanding my vision for fabric, and creating something that worked perfectly for the room!

The finishing touches were what made the room super sweet, like the Elephant Mobile from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child that I hung above the crib and the Hanging Shelf from Pottery Barn Kids {similar} which I filled with little toys above the glider chair. If you take a look back at the before {here}, you may also notice I painted the door and changed out the door hardware to Schlage polished nickel knobs to match the rest of my house… a subtle change but again, fit with the softness of the room! Then I filled our Leaning Shelf {similar} with some sweet baby essentials {see my list below at the bottom of the post!}.

Looking forward to Dane seeing his beautiful room! See all of the pieces I used to fill the room below!

  2. Celebrating Spindrifts Newest Flavors at my Baby Sprinkle

As I shared in my FH Baby Sprinkle Party Post, my guests indulged in a range of treats and sips at the brunch party, but today I wanted to share a closer look at one in particular that I was incredibly excited to share with guests… the newest Spindrift flavors!! Not familiar with Spindrift? Spindrift is America’s first and only sparkling water made with real, squeezed fruit. It is sweetened naturally and tastes delicious! The last 8.5 months of my pregnancy I have tried to stay pretty healthy avoiding anything too sugary, sodas, drinks with artificial sweeteners, etc. So I couldn’t…

  3. Back to School

Woohoo Back to School time! After an amazing summer the kids are back in school and we are back in the swing of things! I can’t believe how much Reese and Brooks have grown and changed this summer… Reese grew a whole foot size, Brooks can ‘almost’ write his name, Reese can ride a bike without training wheels, Brooks is obsessed with sports and is signed up for basketball and T-Ball. When did my babies become toddlers!! In prepping for the school year, we picked out new backpacks {see this post}, we prepped lunch boxes {see this post}, and of…

  4. Nursery Hardware Update with Schlage

What used to be the FH Office, is now the nursery for Baby #3! We put up a fresh coat of paint, new window treatments and even updated to new door hardware from Schlage {see the official tour of the room here!}. It came out so sweet and serene, exactly what you need when you have a newborn! You may remember earlier this year when I shared the post Updating your Doors with Schlage, that we completely changed out our hardware downstairs to our bedroom and exterior doors to a fresh polished nickel. I have slowly been getting around to…

  5. What’s in my Nursery

Today I wanted to share some of the highlights from my nursery in case you are also planning your nursery decor. I kept with a grey and neutral scheme because we are not finding out the gender, although these pieces can really work either way! I hope this collage inspires you to find some last minute pieces that will complete your space, and if you missed my full nursery tour, see it here! Starting with the “Animal American Map” art print I found on Minted… it’s so adorable and I love the pastels! Minted actually has an enitre art section for kids…
