With Thanksgiving just a few short weeks away, I partnered with the Style Blue Print team of Nashville to create a tabletop story that will have you inspired for your Holiday entertaining. {Don’t know SBP? StyleBlueprint is a digital publication that celebrates Southern style through a focus on interiors, fashion, food, travel, local highlights and more. Their tagline is “connecting women to their community,” and they do that with helpful articles for busy women who wish to stay in-the-know.}
The concept behind the shoot was that come each big holiday, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, you love to use your most prized possessions, like your wedding china and your mother’s crystal stemware when hosting your most elegant dinner parties. But the issue many people face is that when using the same key pieces, it becomes difficult to really transform the look from one Holiday to next, so we are here to show you how that’s actually not the case!
We decided to stage the same scenario where we placed a setting of Haviland china and Juliska stemware on top of Holly Stuart placemats out for both Holidays. We also left out the same evergreen garland with two Juliska candle vases down the middle of the dining table. We then hit the local shops of Nashville, Corzine & Company and Epergne, in search of Holiday decorative items, napkins, and napkin rings, and we couldn’t believe how each Holiday instantly had it’s own elegant style!
For Thanksgiving, we chose tons of pumpkin elements, from Deborah Rhodes pumpkin napkin rings, to Simon Pearce glass pumpkin figurines to Herend turkeys and reindeer as well as real white pumpkins from the grocery that I sprinkled throughout the centerpiece garland.
Then switching over to Christmas, we swapped the pumpkins for Juliska Christmas trees in a selection of glass and silver. We swapped the real white pumpkins for glass Christmas ornaments. And we swapped plaid napkins for Kim Seybert white linen napkins with a green herringbone trim. Then for the napkin rings we chose bright gold balls by Kim Seybert to match back to the gold china. To give it just the right pop of Christmas cheer we sprinkled little vases filled with huckleberry sprigs throughout.
As you can see by the mini side-by-sides above, the truth behind the story is that splurging on the little details like napkins, napkin rings, and a few decorative items that you place throughout your table can have a beautiful {and big} impact. See how it all was put together in this video we did with StyleBlueprint.com on their website!
