I look for any excuse to drink girly cocktails, so Valentine’s Day will be the perfect opportunity to make one of my favorite recipes, a Strawberry Gin Mojito. Rather than following the norm of serving these in casual stemless barware, I suggest dressing them up in classy wine glasses {similar to mine}. I love them overflowing with strawberries and mint, and then the finishing touch, adding red and white polka dot straws. These cocktails will be a hit at any Valentine’s Day Party or for a girl’s night in!
What you need to make your cocktails {serving size 1}:
- 1.5 oz Gin {I love Perry’s Tot from a local NY Distillery}
- 4 chopped strawberries {3 for muddling, 1 for garnish
- 2 mint stalks {1 for muddling, 1 for garnish}
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon simple syrup
- Diet Tonic
- Limes for extra garnish
Directions: Add 3 strawberries, 1 sprig of mint leaves and 5 cubes of ice to a shaker. Muddle. Add gin, lemon, simple syrup and shake. Pour over glass full of ice. Fill remaining with tonic. Top with 1 chopped strawberry, 1 mint stalk and straw.
Thanks to Call me PMC for the recipe.
Serve the finished product alongside bowls of fresh strawberries and sliced limes, and of course a stunning vase filled with red roses. Cheers and stay tuned for more Valentine’s Day posts in my Holiday Entertaining Section.
