Rather than meeting friends for a quick drink at a noisy and busy bar, I love to invite them over for a quiet drink and some quality catch up time at my apartment. In preparation for their arrival, I like to have all of my glasses and wine out on my coffee table so we can get straight to the drinking and lounging.
One thing I hate is when I have my ice cold bottles sitting out on my coffee table and they begin dripping with condensation, leaving a puddle on my counter top. Thankfully it isn’t wood and it’s a simple wipe down, but still not classy and not pretty! On the other hand I hate to waste all of my ice just so I can have a nice looking ice bucket out on the table. I was so excited when I found the perfect solution – Michael Aram has a Wine Coaster & Stopper Set {I chose the Hosta Set} which essentially is a little dish for the wine to sit in and catch the drip! Then the stopper is actually a beautiful silver leaf ‘cork’, which is so much prettier than having out your normal cork on the table!
Sticking with this silver theme, I took another Michael Aram piece, my Michael Aram Botanical Leaf Platter {something I usually use for serving food} and used it as a tray for my wine glasses. Then I took my {also silver} West Elm Dotted Mercury Hurricane Vase and filled it with fresh bright orange roses for a dash of color. Right now I love stemless wine glasses, so I am loving my Kara Tumblers from Pier 1 which are only $4.50 a pop!!
All that’s left is to do is light a few candles and dim the lights because I am ready for guests to arrive any moment!
