Holiday Breakfast

Egg in a Hole with a Holiday twist thanks to St Pierre Bakery

Making “Mornings” Bright…

This month I have been adding a bit of “Holiday Spirit” to some of my go-to dishes, from my cheese boards, to my breakfasts!! So today I wanted to share a super cute and fun way to start the day with a holiday spin on an “egg in a hole.” Instead of a classic hole in your toast, I used festive cookie cutters from stars to christmas trees to make my cut out. And because we all deserve a little more sweetness this time of year, I swapped my usual wheat toast for St Pierre’s brioche loaf. The end result is the perfect sweet meets salty breakfast!!

Instructions: First, use Christmas cookie cutters to create a shape in the center of your toast. Next, heat a skillet over medium-low heat and melt in butter. When the butter is all spread out, place the slice of bread in the skillet and crack the egg straight into the center of the hole. Cook until the egg sets a bit on the bottom, 30 to 45 seconds. Sprinkle the egg with salt. Flip it over with a spatula and let it cook until the yolk feels soft. Serve on Holiday plates alongside plaid napkins and enjoy!!
