3WCircle Networking Event

A few weeks ago I had the honor of being the spotlight speaker for 3WCircle a women’s group based in NYC. When asked if I could speak to these women, I thought that ‘actions speak louder than words’ so what better way to demonstrate what I do than actually host the event. The CEO and Founder of 3WCircle, Caroline Scheinfeld, asked to write a recap of the special evening, so here it is:

“Who says networking has to include name tags, stuffy environments and unsatisfying passed around appetizers? Last month, 3WCircle and the FH pioneered a concept of the anti-networking networking dinner party. 3WCircle which stands for –What Women Want is a forum for women to inspire, educate and motivate each other to live happier lives through sharing experiences and vulnerabilities. Amongst a diverse group of women with varied ethnicities, occupations and interests, 3WCircle prides itself as a place where “We have inspiring and meaningful conversations. We don’t just swap business cards. We swap life stories.” I wanted the the guest list to be comprised of women who could learn from each other to not only leverage their businesses but feel a sense of camaraderie amongst other entrepreneurs. The guests included founders of fitness, fashion and bridal tech companies as well as a tech Venture Capitalist, the creator of a female centered vitamin water and last but not least the hostess with the mostest fabulous blogger!

To break the ice, I not only over poured delicious Uproot wine, because as the FH knows, “its a great social lubricant” but I also made us play an actual ice breaker. We all gathered around a circle, which I love because no one hides and the conversation flows more seamlessly. Everyone had circle cards where they had to fill out the answers to questions such as “Who has greatly influence your current way of thinking?” to “What decade would you wish go back to?” Random questions avoiding discussing occupations allows women to peal away at their layers and reveal a side of themselves usually kept hidden at networking events. After enjoying the delicious meal, we “melted the ice” by going around the circle and answering all of the 8 ice breakers. One of the guests, said the dinner felt “relaxed, fun but at the same time it was productive!” The party was clearly a success because we all overstayed our welcome at Chateau FH as we giggled, loudly laughed and chatted causing the FHB to wake up!

As women, we have to work together in ways where we can connect woman to woman rather than act in a competitive manner as CEO to CEO. It’s wonderful to be open, honest and be educated over a great meal! Thank you, FH!
