Meeting with Michael Aram

Michael Aram Flatiron Store

This past week I had the opportunity to meet with one of my favorite Home & Entertaining Designers Michael Aram, the Creator and Designer behind Michael Aram, a ‘go-to’ for bridal registries and many of my entertaining pieces. {I have featured his pieces herehere, and here as well as endlessly on my Instagram}. He was kind enough to give me a tour of his flagship store at 136 West 18th Street in the Flatiron District, NYC {if you haven’t visited it, you are seriously missing out!}.

What I loved most as he ushered me through the shelves of his gorgeous metal-work was Michael’s pure appreciation for a gorgeous table. Incorporating just one of his intricately hand-crafted platters or bowls on to your table can instantly transform a mediocre set-up to a stunning one that will be sure to catch the eyes of your guests {trust me – I’m speaking from experience!}. Michael is a firm believer that while a gorgeous bowl may be in and of itself a splurge for your dinner table, such a piece will double as a form of art on display in your house or apartment when you aren’t dining. Fill the bowl with red apples on your coffee table and you no longer need flowers in your living room!

Some of his most well-known pieces, his Judaica collection – a staple amongst many Jewish brides – is exquisitely adorned in hand molded flowers and branches. The most contemporary collection {my favorite!} is the Molten Collection, which has great platters for wine and cheese parties. The newest Leaf Collection can work for everything from serving food to household art to holding jewelry or keys in your foyer. And recently he has rounded out his collections with dish ware – a perfect mid-range price point for those who want nicer than everyday plates but don’t want to register for fancy unused china!

For those of you like me, who have a bunch of weddings on the horizon, there is no need to stress out anymore about what you should get the bride and groom.  It’s hard to go wrong with purchasing a Michael Aram piece from one of his collections. Shop below for some of my ‘Bridal Must-Have’ Gifts!

And last but not least, I am so excited to announce that Michael and I will be hosting an event together in his NYC store!! TBD with the details!!
