For this week’s Dinner Party Spotlight I ventured to the West Village to visit the exquisite home of clothing designer, Pauline Naikos, founder of Lilla P. Much like her clothing line shows an appreciation for the classics, her tablescape was filled with vintage treasures and traditional crystals. Get ready to swoon over this round tabletop display equipped with a succulent centerpiece that is truly one for the books!

Q & A:

FH: Tell us about Lilla P and how you came to start it.

Pauline: I started Lilla P in 1998 while living in Atlanta. I moved to NYC in 2001 and my husband joined the business full time in 2006 when our oldest son was 6 months old. It is a true family business. We currently sell to approximately 1000 stores throughout North America and looking to continue to expand into distribution worldwide. We also have our own store on 14th Street in New York City.

Lilla P is a collection inspired by the modern woman that is perfectly tailored for a casual lifestyle. Each season Lilla P rethinks the classics to create a collection of separates that are both flattering and functional.

FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?

Pauline: I would call myself contemporary with a traditional flair. I am from Charleston, so I will always have a sense of traditional style. I do love the mix.

FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?

Pauline: Not often enough. We love to do early Sunday family dinners with friends and their children. It is usually 4 adults and 4 children.

FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?

Pauline: Living in NYC, anything can be ordered in. It is quite a luxury. I do love to make salads and I think I do interesting ones pretty well. Lamb Chops are always simple and look quite fancy.

FH: Did something inspire you for today’s table? A certain color, flower, plate?

Pauline: I covet the Anna Weatherly plates and they were one of my first “adult” purchases about 15 years ago.
