I am so excited to begin a new series on FH called the “Dinner Party Spotlight.” Throughout the next year, I will be taking our collective dinner party inspiration to the next level {that’s right, I want the inspiration just as much as you do!} by visiting a series of influencers’ homes to see how they set their tables! From fashion mavens to philanthropists, from New York to LA, this line-up of featured “Tastemakers” was hand-selected, with some of the more incredible tables and eloquent tastes I have come across. So get your Pinterest Boards ready: these tablescapes will not fail to disappoint, and these influences will add some creative inspiration to your repertoire.  I hope you enjoy the new faces as much as I have enjoyed working with them.

Without further ado, to kick off the series, I am excited to introduce you to Lisa Eryn Silverman of These Fine Walls. Haven’t heard of it? Well get ready for a fun Q&A with today’s first Tastemaker!

Q & A:

FH: Tell me a quick bio of These Fine Walls and how you started it.

Lisa:  I’ve been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember. While working at Michael Kors producing photo shoots I was exposed daily to talented fashion photographers and meanwhile I loved playing around with photography as a hobby. With a leap of faith, I decided to launch These Fine Walls, a curated a collection of limited edition photographs that met my aesthetics, along with some of my own images that had already begun to get an online following.  I wanted to merge my passions for photography, fashion, and interior design and to create an accessible platform for customers to obtain these amazing pieces to enhance their interiors. These Fine Walls is the ultimate online source for purchasing contemporary limited edition photography to turn any space into the sublime.

FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?

Lisa: I would say a mix of all three… eclectic might be the best description. I am traditional in that I love to celebrate holidays and bring the colors and customs to my table, plus I love to mix in antique and vintage pieces that belonged to my family. I am contemporary because that is who I am and really what attracts me. And, I love to reflect the seasons in flowers, food, and colors.

FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?

Most often, a few times a month. Entertaining can vary from having a couple over before going out to dinner where I will serve hors d’oeuvres to hosting a sit-down Shabbat dinner for twelve. I am not passionate about cooking, but I have a real love for entertaining. I love setting a table and the creativity that goes into preparing for a party. I love opening our home to friends and family, and feel very blessed to have the space that we do in NYC to be able to do it.

FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?

Baked Brie which I make with dark brown sugar and slivered almonds! I serve it alongside Carrs Crackers.

FH: Did something inspire you for today’s table? A certain color, flower, plate?

I got married in March and recently received all the final pieces in my registry. This is the first time the china is out of the box and I was so excited to use it and experiment with how I would style the rest of the table around it. I am a girl who loves neutrals and contrasts, so the white, silver, and touch of black is SO my style. When it comes to flowers I am all about white, green, and branches.

FH: We NEED to re-create this table… Share all the deets!!

  1. The chair name tag holder has to be the best I have ever seen for any party! The whole table setting is gorgeous, I could look at it all day. And don´t even get me started on the tree branch legs of the table and acrylic chairs 🙂
