I have been a long time fan of Randi Garrett Design… she creates beautiful tablescapes, she has decorated the most gorgeous home, and she’s a mother of five {talk about goals!!}. Simply check out her Home Tour {or more recently her Fall Home Tour} and you too will fall in love with every space she touches. For today’s tablescape I asked her to create a Halloween inspired table, and of course she was able to make it extra glam. So read on for this fun interview and a look at what she used to bring this table together!

Q & A:

FH: Tell me a quick bio of how you came to start Randi Garrett Design? Any fun details, awards, stories?

Randi: Decorating and entertaining are my passion! I love creating a place for my family and friends to feel loved and special. I have a degree in elementary education and taught 2nd grade until my first son was born.  I have been a stay at home mom to my 5 amazing children for the last 16 years. My baby starts kindergarten next year. Thinking I would like to start designing for other people once all my kids were in school, I started an Instagram account as a place to store my design and entertaining ideas. Kind of like a portfolio to show future clients.

Well my journey has taken me down paths I never dreamed I would travel! I currently have over 100K followers on Instagram and I launched randigarrettdesign.com almost a year ago, when I realized how much I loved sharing my ideas with others.

I feel truly humbled that so many people have followed me on this amazing journey. Sharing tips for living life in style, has brought me so much joy!

FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?

Randi: I would describe my entertaining style as glamorous. I like to make every event feel like it is something really memorable, something unforgettable! As a hostess, I want my guests to feel how truly special they are to me.

FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?

Randi: I usually entertain once every few months for a group of about 8-12.  More frequently with smaller groups of 4-6. I set fancy tables for my family weekly for Sunday dinners or for special occasions. Sometimes for no reason at all, just as a way to show them they are worth the extra effort!

FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?

Randi: I have lots of go-to-recipes! It depends on what season we are in! I am a very sentimental person. The recipes I use have memories attached to them. Family recipes are my favorite. For the main course my Mother -in- law’s brisket and rice recipe is always a crowd favorite. For dessert, my Aunt Susan’s pound cake recipe is fabulous just about any time of year!

FH: Do you have a go-to cocktail?

Randi: I don’t drink, but I do have a go to party drink! Whenever I am hosting a large party, I set up my Italian Soda bar. Guests have a great time mingling over what flavor combinations are the best.

FH: Did something inspire you for todays table? A certain color, flower, plate?

Randi: Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and I think it gets a bad wrap! I like to show people that Halloween can be elegant. My black and white striped tablecloth was my inspiration. It is timeless and classy, but still stays true to the traditional Halloween color scheme.
