Detox Waters

Fruit Infused Drinks that will make you glow

In my last post I shared how I am ready to serve up some healthier options in 2019, whether it’s for guests or for our family. I kicked off this resolution by sharing 2 healthy vegan dips, an Avocado Spinach Artichoke Dip and a Chipotle Hummus Dip that are delicious paired back to veggies or chips.

Today I wanted to share 2 delicious fruit-infused

Detox Waters

Not only are they gorgeous to serve guests in lieu of a boring pitcher of ice water, but they have amazing benefits. I love to serve these for a healthy brunch post-workout class with the girls or on the weekend alongside brunch. They also beautiful additions to your drink station at a bridal or baby shower! I am excited to share two of my favorites today…

Cucumber Lemon Mint Detox Water

Cucumber Lemon Mint Detox Water

Lemons are a natural detoxifier; they help to cleanse the body by flushing out toxins, while also boosting your immune system and aiding better digestion. Mint is also good for digestion and provides a touch of sweetness without the sugar. Cucumbers are 96% water, so they provide a subtle flavor and extra hydration.

Ingredients:

  • 12 cups of filtered water
  • 1 medium organic cucumber
  • 2-3 small organic lemons
  • 10-12 organic mint leaves

Directions:

  • Wash lemons and cucumbers; slice thinly.
  • Add lemons, cucumber and mint to pitcher.
  • Cover with water and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.

Strawberry Mint Glow Water

Strawberry Mint Glow Water

Strawberries are rich in ellagic acid, folate, and vitamin C, each of which works to neutralize cell damage caused by free radicals.  Ellagic acid also helps to protect the skin against UV damage. Mint is rich in anti-oxidants and flavonoids. Mint is known for soothing and healing inflammation and keeping acne at bay.

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 large organic strawberries (I recommend fresh but you can do frozen)
  • 1 large organic mint sprig
  • 2 quarts cold filtered water
Directions:

  1. Wash and halve the strawberries (if using frozen strawberries, leave whole).
  2. Add strawberry halves and mint to a 2 quart pitcher. Fill to the top with cold water.
  3. Allow the mint and strawberries to infuse the water with flavor (recommend an hour +) before serving. Keep water chilled.
