On a Sunday afternoon in September I hosted my first official FH event at our new Nashville home, a calligraphy workshop taught by Alyssa of Parris Chic. I had found Alyssa’s stunning work on Pinterest and quickly thereafter became a follower of her Instagram back in January. I reached out to her immediately saying with our matching aesthetics we had to collaborate for an event where she could lead a class and I could style a party equally as pretty as her calligraphy booklets. After a ton of back and forth I decided my “FH launch” in Nashville would be just the place. I began reaching out to local Nashville brands to get in on the action and from the most stunning luxury furniture rental to the most delicious spread of brunch treats, the event culminated with a gorgeous brunch of thirty five women on the #TNChateauFH back patio. I am so excited to share the photos today!
It was beautiful sunny day in Nashville, as guests pulled up to the event they were greeted with fresh mimosas {a mixture of Le Grand Courtage champagne with freshly muddled strawberry juice and garnishes of lavender and edible flowers}. Guests then headed to the back porch for a buffet of brunch treats. Muffins, scones, and yogurt parfaits from The Southern and the sweetest desserts, pastel pink and white mini cupcakes from Gigi’s Cupcakes which guests enjoyed on vintage china by local Nashville company Vintage Vessels.
Next guests headed to their seats where the true Fashionable Hostess party lay. Please Be Seated provided the most stunning hunt linen dining chairs and benches and a bar which housed a full mimosa station.
The whimsical calligraphy tables each housed arrangements of local flowers – dahlias being the real show stopper, assembled by local florist The Farmers Florist, and at each seat awaited beautiful calligraphy packets, calligraphy pens, and ink displayed by Alyssa. As guests enjoyed their sips and nibbles, Alyssa led a full calligraphy class, from the basic steps and techniques of using the pen to tracing letters and names. Each guest left with their own personal pen, ink and practice booklets to continue their study at home.
To end the day, guests scored giftbags filled with Sugarfina candies, Molton Brown Handcream, L’Oreal mascara, Flower by Drewbarrymore Lipgloss, Laura Geller Eye Liner, Christie Brinkley beauty, and Miss Naughty Brownie Deserts. It was such a fabulous day – I am so excited to have partnered with Alyssa and look forward to many more FH events in the South!
