When Kmart invited a group of Fashion Bloggers to check out their new Jaclyn Smith Clothing collection, I had to do a double take. Kmart, a place I have really only gone to for patio furniture or BBQ supplies is now reaching out to Fashionistas?! I know I had heard about their collaborations with Sofia Vergara and Selena Gomez, but being a (dare I say) “snobby” shopper, would I really be into their clothes? Could this be the new Target (pronounced Tarjay)? I was skeptical yet intrigued so I headed downtown to check out the collection. And well, I think these pictures say it all. Their (originally $24.99 but now $14.99) Jaclyn Smith Utility Shirt looks like one I recently spent $280.00 on from Equipment! Their Route 66 Cuffed Denim Shorts go for $9.99 and I loved their adorable Dream Outloud Scarf (Selena’s line) which was only $7.69. [Um this whole outfit costs less than a mani pedi!!] So what’s the verdict? This new discovery could not have come at a better time than summer. Headed to a bachelorette where you want to look fashionable but will be living in a 29 person house on a lake so you know everything you bring will get destroyed? Check. Buying your kids clothes for summer camp and the term “laundry service” is a loose one? Check. Hosting a Kentucky Derby Party and want oversized floppy hats and big sunglasses to make a statement but want to save since the majority of your money for Mint Juleps? Check!
And last but not least, Kmart is giving customers a chance to win a $500 Kmart gift card and a shot at a one-time trip to NYC for exclusive access to the next photo shoot and Kmart Design Studio. All you have to do is snap a photo of a look you put together from Kmart and upload it to the contest tab on the Kmart Fashion Facebook page, or upload it to Twitter or Instagram with hashtag #MoneyCantBuyStyle for a chance to win! The Remix Challenge #1 style video featuring George Kotsiopoulos will debut on http://facebook.com/
