I am so excited to share a little change of pace on the blog today with one of the chicest Thanksgiving tablesettings I have seen this season. The creator of this classic meets cool display is the newest FH Dinner Party Series guest, Southern Fashionista, Amelia of Amelia Styles. This Nashville blogger loves to share edgy looks when it comes to fashion, and it transferred seamlessly to the table. Read on to learn more about Amelia, be inspired by this autumnal table right in time for the Holidays, and of course, shop similar finds at the bottom of the post!
Q & A:
FH: Tell me a quick bio of how you came to start Amelia Styles.
Amelia: I started Amelia Styles because I felt trapped in a corporate job I wasn’t passionate about, and I wanted to be able to share my enduring passion for style and writing, and quench my thirst for fashion. Style is something I’ve always been drawn to, and I’ve been lucky to have a close knit community in Nashville that inspires me constantly and helps me create. The Shop started because I love entrepreneurship, and I thought opening an online store would easily tie into the blog I already created. It was a fun transition to become a business owner outside of the blog. I’m certainly still learning, and I’m always talking myself out of the over-the-top crazy sparkly statement pieces I continuously want to buy. One of the coolest things for the shop so far was one of my pieces was featured in People StyleWatch Magazine…that was pretty neat. Also, a style idol of mine and fellow fashion blogger Jacey Duprie (Damsel In Dior) viewed my shop and told me she thought I “had a strong eye”. I almost collapsed.
FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?
Amelia: I’m a pretty traditional girl, but I love the different seasons and getting to use all the colors, textures and traditions of each one.
FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?
Amelia: I moved into my house a little over a year ago, so I haven’t had the space to entertain for too long. I enjoy entertaining a few times each season, and I can seat four guests at my dining table… I like to keep things pretty intimate.
FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?
Amelia: Umm…next question. (If this tells you anything, I frequently buy the rotisserie chickens from Kroger under the heat lamps.)
FH: Do you have a go-to cocktail?
Amelia: I love serving champagne when I entertain…it just gives the occasion a special feel. I’ve collected a bunch of vintage champagne glasses over the years, and I love to mix and match them. This Thanksgiving though, I want to serve Caramel Apple Mimosas. They are so easy!
Amelia’s Caramel Apple Mimosas:
- Produce: 1 Apple, slices
- Baking & Spices: 2 tbsp Caramel & 2 tbsp Cinnamon sugar
- Drinks: 1 cup Apple cider
- Beer, Wine & Liquor: 8 oz Caramel vodka & 1 bottle Champagne
Mix and serve!
FH: Did something inspire you for today’s table? A certain color, flower, plate?
Amelia: I really wanted to capture the essence of fall and the warmth that comes along with the Thanksgiving holiday.
