As a mom, I find such joy in reading to my children as well as seeing them develop their own love for books. I’ve always been a passionate reader and consider myself very lucky to have had access to books both at home and at school my entire childhood. Unfortunately, many children don’t have these same luxuries and lack the resources to access quality reading material. Literacy is crucial to a child’s future and success, so in today’s post I’m excited to support two organizations that are intent on making children’s literacy a priority!
AERIN, a global luxury lifestyle brand {which sells home goods that I swoon over on a regular basis}, has teamed up with FIRST BOOK, a non-profit organization whose mission is to elevate the quality of education for kids and to provide children in need with access to new books and quality learning resources. Aerin has created Book Bundle Sets {sold on Aerin.com} where 100% of the proceeds go toward FIRST BOOK. So if you are planning to stock up on books for the new school year, here is your chance to support while scoring some great reads for the kids.
The FIRST BOOK Children’s Bundle Age 0-3 includes some of my favorites like Dorothy Kunhardt’s Pat the Bunny and P.D. Eastman’s Are You My Mother? while the FIRST BOOK Children’s Bundle: Ages 4-8 includes fun ones like Duck & Goose by Tad Hills and Leo Lionni’s Frederick and His Friends.
So what’s the best way to get involved?? Give the gift of reading to a child by visiting AERIN.com to purchase the two adorable sets of book bundles {links right above}, or if you happen to be in the Long Island area, drop by AERIN’s Southampton boutique and pick up a copy! I hope you will join me in supporting this great cause of helping to further their mission in ending knowledge poverty.
