A Fresh Look in our Breakfast Nook

My favorite place to eat as a family is right here around this round table in our breakfast nook. On Sunday nights my kids and I set the table pretty with my cloth napkins (a special treat from the usual paper!), fresh flowers, and even “adult” silverware for them to use. Then my husband and I cook up a family style dinner which we display in the middle of the table and serve buffet style! By the time the food is ready, the kids are so excited to sit down for the “feast” (as they call it!) and talk about the weekend… it’s the perfect way to end the week.

I have been wanting to give the space a little refresher for some time now and I knew a beautiful new light fixture would be the perfect compliment. I wanted something silver (to match the pendants in the kitchen)and something sleek and airy (so you can still take in the view of the outside). When I found this one, the Valdi Chandelier from Craftmade, I immediately knew it was a perfect match! It is modern yet elegant, and I love the tubular glass that diffuses the light (from an internal LED light source – no bulbs required!). It really looks so fresh in the space! The dimensions of the chandelier are 26.5″ wide by 19.5″ high, making it perfect above a breakfast or dining table, or even for a foyer! Oh, and if you missed the other update I made in my kitchen, adding built-in shelving, be sure to check out this post!

For those of you unfamiliar with Craftmade, it is a light company that offers a full range of lighting styles and options, is known for its high quality and advanced technology, and is sold in stores all over the country. I am so excited how our new light fixture has given this room a fresh new feel, we can’t wait for next Sunday’s dinner!
