I am so honored to be featured on Simple & Crisp’s Blog! Simple & Crisp (for those of you who don’t know them) are these AMAZING dried fruit chips. They are the perfect pairing from savory to sweet, to cheese, chocolate, canapés, coffee to champagne, not to mention, they make your presentation look fabulous (which you know is essential for me!) Oh and did I mention they are gluten-free AND organic! So when the Simple & Crisp team asked me to put together a few of my very own FH crafted concoctions, I jumped at the opportunity to participate (and of course taste test). On to my recipes…
My two favorite things to serve for guests are cheese and Mezze platters (translation: Mediterranean), so I wanted to incorporate Simple & Crisp into these genres. I absolutely love Simple & Crisp Apple & Pear so I decided to use these two flavors as my base.
Pairing #1 : Simple & Crisp Apple, topped with a slice of Point Reyes Toma Cheese, and a drizzle of Agave syrup.
Pairing #2 : Simple & Crisp Pear, topped with a teaspoon of Raspberry Chutney, and a slice of Vermont Creamery Bonne Bouche. Bonne Bouche is essentially a blue cheese in case it isn’t available to you.
Pairing #3 : Simple & Crisp Apple, topped with a teaspoon of Jalapeno Hummus, and finished off with a pit-free olive.
As for my presentation, I took all three, made duplicates, and then placed them on my Nambe Cheese Block with a few strawberries for color and a few extra crisps for snacking. Enjoy!!
