As the seasons have started to change from warm Summer to cool Fall, I like to wake up each morning and check the weather before I begin my journey of getting dressed. Every day this week I woke up to find low of 50 and high of 72. Now I have to say that this is an incredibly wide range making it very challenging for a fashionista to get dressed. Even though I can tell on my iPhone that it will rise to 60 by 11:00 and then 67 by 1:00, I am concerned I may still have a chill from the morning walk or be sweating loathing the fact that I chose leather. So what to wear on days like these that’s in trend but covers all aspects of the weather? My go-to wardrobe {which suits a day of meetings or a day of shopping} has become a warm over-sized vest, silk blouse, skinny pants, and smoking flats. The vest provides just the right amount of warmth in the AM but can easily come off for that mid-day high. *Note: tight form-fitting jackets and vests are out, while ones that look a size too big or “balloon-shape” are all the rage. {Mine is from Drew which I got at Intermix.} For the shoes I have this amazing pair, the Riley Slipper by Johnston & Murphy. I love how the “traditional look” totally makes your outfit look polished and poised while the mens-wear cut is so on trend. *Note: rounded ballet flats are SO last season. Plus I am also in love with the velvet and embroidery detail.
So whatever the weather may be, don’t let it slow you down! Time to hit the ground running for a busy day!
