The Cutest Kids Table for your Christmas Celebration
Dec 1, 2017
Rather than attempting to sit my little munchkins at our fancy dining table over the Holidays, I love creating a “special space” for them to enjoy their Holiday meal! The way I see it, it’s a win-win for everyone; I don’t have to worry about them using my finest China, and they feel special having their own “fancy set up”complete with new plates, treats, and toys!
So for this year’s Christmas celebration I transformed our playroom into a bright and cheery winter wonderland; starting with a tree just their size from Frontgate {which has 12 light settings – a kids dream!!} and ending with the cutest matching plates, cups, and silverware from Skip Hop. I always try to add lots of little details to the setup so everywhere you turn you notice a little something… like the candy canes floating in their milk, to the nutcrackers on the book shelves.
I am excited to share a closer look at the details and hope a bit inspires you in making the Holidays a bit more special for those little angels in your lives…
Starting with the Skip Hop plate sets… both the red plaid bear aka “winter zoo” set and the pink deer aka “daisy deer” set come with a plate, cup, and silverware for only $20! They are such a great gifts, they are dishwasher safe made of durable melamine, which means perfect for hot cocoa and pasta, and the fork and spoon have thick soft side grips to make it easy for the kiddos to hold. {Shop the sets here.} The white bottle brush tree in the center of the table is from Target {here} which I decorated with mini ornaments from the dollar section!
For sweet treats I made mini chocolate cupcakes and sprinkled crushed peppermint on top {I sprinkle crushed peppermint on pretty much anything this time of year from cakes to hot chocolate to ice cream sundaes… the touch of red is Holiday perfection!}, and topped with the cutest Holiday cupcake toppers from Meri Meri. To make the table extra colorful I sprinkled extra plastic ornaments all around.
The tree alongside the display is from Frontgate and I just love the flocked look! It comes pre-lit in a gorgeous urn and has no joke 12 settings!! I added a few colorful ornaments to the tree to match our display! {See the tree here.}. Then there’s the backdrop – our bookshelves. When I am hosting a little party in my playroom I really try to only display the prettiest and most festive of toys. {Yes, I clear the ugly books and board games and throw them in the kids rooms for the night. ALSO – if your kids have toys they don’t love to share, I recommend hiding those away too to avoid any melt downs!}. To add some color to the shelves I displayed these fun glittery reindeer, Holiday snow globes, nutcrackers, and our Holiday themed books!
I am so excited about this merry and bright space… Wishing your littles ones a special night!
