Christmas Dessert Bar & DIY Popcorn Station

Hot Chocolate station for Christmas by Fashionable Hostess

This Christmas I wanted to create a new spin on dessert that guests would remember well into the new year. It was time to think outside of the box… I was bored of the obvious options of cakes and cupcakes and I wanted something that left guests saying, β€œWow, now that was cool!” So today is the big reveal… A dessert bar complete with minty Hot Chocolates and a DIY Popcorn Station. These fun desserts combo’d with the festive display should do just the trick!

Shopping Essentials:

So first we need to review your list of shopping essentials to put this look together {most of which I picked up at Target}. For decor: A green garland {here}, candy canes, and a few other other fun Christmas trinkets {like this}. Then, two large bowls {here}, coffee mugs, small bowls {for toppings as well as oneΒ per guest}, red and white napkins {here}, and candy scoops.

Candy Bar Decor & Hot Chocolate Station:

How to assemble: First I laid my garland along the back end of my dessert table… any long bar or console will work for this display, and I then hung candy canes throughout the garland. NextΒ I arranged my buffet, starting with my first large bowl packed with Chocolate Santas. For my Hot Chocolate Bar I filled my mugs and garnished with candy canes. Alongside the glasses IΒ placedΒ a few small bowls filled with marshmallows and other chocolatey toppings for the drinks.

DIY Popcorn Toppings Bar:

Now on to my favorite dessert… my DIY Popcorn bar. I filled my second large bowl with lightly salted popcorn. Beside it I set out two sets of bowls, some for guests to useΒ when assembling their creations, and the others for my topping options. ForΒ toppings I chose multi-colored sprinkles and M&Ms but I also recommend chocolate sauce, gummy candies, and cookie crumbs. Get guests involved and tell them to bring their favorite topping! The mixture of salty and sweet is heavenly.

Make sure to have your festive napkins scattered throughout. I always hold down the napkins with candy canes so they don’t go blowing off the table!

And there you have it. Something that will leave the neighborhood talking {not to mention with a sufficient sugar high}!Β Happy Holidays!!
