In Miami, it is just as important to have a beautiful outdoor space as it is to have a gorgeous indoor space because you truly spend SO much time outside. Whether it’s hanging by the pool or dining al fresco, our outdoor space has become like a second family room, so today I wanted to share all the details of how I decorated it with the help of Frontgate! I am truly in love with how it turned out because it is totally my house’s style while being incredibly comfortable and outdoor safe. Here are all of the deets…

To make the outdoor space perfect for hanging and dining I wanted to divide it into two unique spaces; a sitting area where we could watch the kids splash in the pool during the day or come evening, lounge with friends for cocktails and wine. And second, a dining space where we could enjoy lunch or an evening bbq. To create the two separate spaces, I placed an outdoor rug {the Mondrian in indigo} on one end to designate the seating area. Over it I placed a modular sofa, a coffee table, and two large cozy club chairs. The couch is the Madeira Modular Sectional, a whicker couch with built-in cushioning making it really comfortable, but also great for wet bottoms! The pillows on top are both “outdoor pillows,” a neutral chevron and a preppy air blue print- which look fancy but can resist rain and humidity! The couch is sold by piece so you can make the couch as long as you would like, or even an L-shape. Then the coffee table, the Emory Teak Coffee Table, is a great size for putting out appetizers, drinks, and flowers. Across from my couch I placed two Emerson lounge chairs in white which are so big and cushiony, they practically look like indoor pieces. The best part is the Sunbrella slipcover on the chairs pull off easily to go in the wash!

For the dining space, I chose the Emerson faux wood dining table and six chairs, four Emerson dining chairs and then two Emerson arm chairs for the heads of the table. The table looks like vintage wood, but is made from all-weather resin and crushed stone {it is insanely heavy FYI!}. The chairs are tall, elegant, and cushioned {again with slipcovers that easily pull off and can go in the wash}.

To complete the space, I hung three gold Darlana Pendants {medium size} from Circa lighting. {Note, these aren’t specifically guaranteed for outdoors, but under my patio which is safe from the rain, they have worked fabulously!}. Hope you love seeing more of our Miami home. Check out more rooms in my Decor section and stay tuned on my instagram with hashtag #MiaChateauFH for more photos of my house in action.
