Q & A:
FH: Tell me a quick bio of how you came to start Beijos Events?
We started Beijos Events after my wedding in 2012. I had so much fun working on my wedding and being creative that I wanted to keep it going. My two friends who are also creative had the same thought. We started out just planning parties for their kids and my baby showers, then moved on to doing fun photo shoots and then to actually booking real life events!! It’s been a process and we’ve met some really amazing vendors who we now call friends along the way. Now our business is getting busy and we are excited for what the future holds!
FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?
That’s tough, I feel like we try to cater to whatever our clients needs are but personally I think we tend to be more on the bohemian/modern side. We love using color but also like a simplistic feel sometimes. I guess it’s whatever our mood is and how we feel inspired at the time. Different seasons can definitely inspire different ideas and concepts though!
FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?
I used to entertain more before kids but I still do occasionally! Usually it’s for around 6-8 people, but a couple times a year we do larger parties.
FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?
Haha! Honestly I’m so focused on how things look and the decor I do try to leave the cooking to my husband or I like to get things catered. I make a really amazing vodka sauce pasta thought that is a crowd pleaser! Although I may not cook as much I do know how to pour a mean glass of wine 😉
FH: Do you have a go-to cocktail?
I love making jalapeño & cucumber skinny margaritas! I can’t wait for Summer and to drink those in the backyard! I also love drinking Rose and Lambrusco!
FH: Did something inspire you for today’s table? A certain color, flower, plate?
This table was inspired from the transition of Winter to Spring. We wanted to play with some darker colors mixed with the lightness of Spring. I really love the juxtaposition that it created. It’s not much like any table I’ve ever done before, it’s a bit more understated and I think it turned out so pretty. I always turn to Hostess Haven for my rental needs, she has the prettiest collection of tabletop goodies, I feel like a kid in the candy store when I look at her site. Catalina Neal did an amazing job on the florals and Twinkle & Toast inspires me every time I work with her with her creations!
