Host a New Year’s Dinner

Most New Year’s Eve parties will consist of blow horns, confetti, 2014 adorned Tiaras, and magnums of cheap champagne, but not for this FH. This New Year’s Eve I am hosting a small dinner party for just six guests – my husband, myself, and two couples, and my table will be a culmination of some of my favorite table decorations I loved this season… rich Fall colors, beautiful lush textures, and loads of crystal.

So how did I put this New Year’s Eve table together? I started by laying a Woven Champagne Table Runner from Pier1 across the middle of my glass dining table. On top I placed my beautiful tall crystal candlesticks. I love crystal centerpieces because they add a hint of elegance without obstructing the view of guests across the table like a large centerpiece. Lastly I added {also from Pier1} Mosaic Rim Tealight Candleholders in color Amber Luster with small tea lights – these are the perfect opportunity to mix in a lower expensive price point without taking away from the rest of the decor.

The rich texture of the table was inspired by a few pieces I came across from Kim Seybert, especially the stunning Nightingale Placemats which are made from real feathers on felt backing. All of her pieces had a warm Fall/Winter feel – a mix of amber and coppers, which I love for this time of year. The napkins were a gorgeous natural linen fabric called the Corded Ombre Napkin, and the icing on the cake for sure were the bejeweled Marrakech Napkin rings, an elegant version of sequin confetti if you will.

So if you also are planning on hosting an intimate New Year’s Eve celebration at home, consider going this elegant route as a change of pace… at least in your dining room! You bet your bottom dollar that my coffee table will be decked with all of the cheesy tiaras and sparklers for my guests to enjoy after a few glasses of bubbly!

Happy and Healthy New Year!!
