I am so excited to feature Alex of Stylists to a T today as our next FH Dinner Party Series guest. Alex and I actually go way back… I grew up in Miami with her husband, and when I moved to NYC after college, we immediately connected over fashion jobs, travel, and decor. Her resume includes merchandising at Ralph Lauren, buying at Theory, and directing sales and marketing at Emily & Ashley, so starting an amazing fashion blog was pretty much meant for her {and her co-founder husband!}. While Alex doesn’t share much of her own home on her site, from my personal experience and visits I must say it is as chic as she dresses, with every room more glam than the next. I had to invite myself over for a winter white dinner party in her fabulous NYC apartment and the crystal selection was perfection to a T {pun intended}. Read on to learn more about Alex and how she started Stylists to a T, as well as see more photos of this stunning table, which is perfect for any Holiday party!

Q & A:

FH: Tell me a quick bio of how you came to start Stylist to a T?

Well, we {myself and my husband Michael} both have a deep love for fashion. It’s not only the career path we’ve both chosen, but it’s an integral part of our personal lives. For us, getting dressed is a thoughtful and incredibly fun process. And over the years, friends and family saw this and started requesting our style advice. It wasn’t long before we were helping the people closest to us dress for black tie events, weddings, and everyday occasions. And we realized that so many women crave the guidance of a style expert. So we decided to give the public access to our trend editing, shopping tips, and styling advice via Stylists to a T. Because we want every woman to feel fashionable, but also appropriately dressed no matter where she is.

FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?
We trend towards contemporary. We like clean lines for the most part, but will once in a while incorporate a traditional item such as a vase or a place card holder from Buccellati (not shown here on the table). We like to have a fully styled table.

FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?
Cocktail parties are our favorite events to host so we tend to do those more often with 10+ guests. However, we do have a formal table party around two times a year for up to 12 close friends or family.

FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?
Cooking is not our specialty so we usually choose an amazing caterer! But when we do feel up to the task, we use a few family recipes (they’re top secret).

FH: What are some look suggestions for hosting and/or attending a Holiday Dinner party?

The holidays are the perfect time to break out embellished pieces. A great beaded top with a pair of skinny trousers, a little beaded cocktail dress, or for something more tailored we like this satin tuxedo blazer (pictured here) with a pair of leather stretch trousers by Rag & Bone. We always advise our readers to choose an outfit that will not only make them feel beautiful and confident, but will also also accentuate their best assets like the waist, legs, arms, or even clavicle.

FH: Did something inspire you for today’s table? A certain color, flower, plate?
Yes, white peonies have always been a favorite of ours. They’re a classic that offers a neutral palette for us to play with. What we love the most about today’s table is that while it’s very simple, it’s also incredibly festive with the cut crystal vases as well as a votive at each place setting. To us, white and silver are timeless and are the perfect starting place to add in all of the table décor and flatware.
