Decorate for Easter

In my last post you may have gotten a glimpse at these adorable Easter shelves in our playroom! I wanted to create a beautiful backdrop to our celebration so this open shelving was the perfect place, especially for photos! I highly recommend doing the same on bookshelves, a fireplace mantel, or console table close to where you will be celebrating!

To create a cohesive design, I chose a color palette of all white and pastel items. Some of the pieces of course were geared towards Easter, like the carton of pastel eggs and Easter bunnies, but other decorations were simply toys and accessories from my kids rooms! You can really get creative! Include books about bunnies, sweet baby dolls, tea sets, and pretty candles.

Of course my favorite purchase were the faux garlands which I used to line the shelves. {See some similar ones here, here, and here.} I simply used clear tape to secure them to the edge of each shelf, bending the faux leaves to cover the tape. I love the idea of using garlands to line the doorway to your home or even your staircase as you would on Christmas!

A few other sweet details include the sweet customized candy jars with a lid reading “Fashionable Hostess Easter Party” from Swoozies, the pastel candy corn, and the Easter Bunny Straws.

To complete the look, I love a floral or egg wreath this time of year and there are so many faux options available! They look beautiful on your front door, on your kitchen oven, or even on powder room door! Some of my favorites include this one and this one.
