Create a Romantic Night in

Dessert and Champagne for two

It’s freezing and you don’t really feel like heading out with your significant other {or in my case, with my husband, which is even easier to just say “no thanks!” because we live together}. Join the club of lazy snow bunnies… I feel like this lasts for me for the majority of winter! Well, this past week where I spent both New Years Eve as well as my Birthday nuzzled in my cozy home, I remembered that staying in doesn’t have to equate to ugly pajamas and boring take-out. Mixed with a pretty display and some delicious bubbly, you can create an even more romantic night than heading to even the fanciest of restaurants… see how we put ours together.

First things first, get dressed, and I mean in going-out clothes! You may think I sound crazy because you aren’t leaving the house, but don’t you want your boyfriend or husband drooling? Get on that hot dress {best part, no tights for the cold!}, high heels, and even a bright red lip. You will feel better about yourself, not to mention more in the mood for a fun romantic time.

Next, prep the set-up. Here I focused on a gorgeous dessert display. First I started by laying down a metallic placemat {similar to this Chilewich Pebble Placemat}. Then I picked up an extra delicious strawberry shortcake for dessert and placed on a simple white cake stand with my West Elm gold flatware. I used my favorite Juliska Amalia champagne flutes for Champagne. And the finishing touch, fresh white roses displayed in my small crystal Baccarat vase. To make it extra special, I like to splurge on great champagne, like this “I am the After Party” Chandon bottle. It couldn’t be more perfect since this IS in fact the after party.

Now turn on some music, dim the lights, and cheers! Enjoy the perfect night in, no braving the cold required!
