With the start of another season, I was excited to host my next Influencer Event in Miami. For those of you unfamiliar, each quarter I design and host an intimate event catered to Miami’s top influencers and bloggers showcasing a range of brands that are trending {and most importantly, I am loving!}.
This event’s theme: a Cheese Board Crafting Party. A chance for me to share some of my favorite cheese board styling tips while incorporating Fall elements like pumpkin flavored crackers, small white pumpkins, and eucalyptus garnish.
I hosted the event in my home and prepped the house with endless pumpkins {see my Fall home tour for more details}. I am excited to share a peek inside the event today on the blog…
The Entry
When guests entered the party, they approached a large console table. Balloon company PJB Creations once again did all of the balloon garlands for the event and as always set such a beautiful whimsical tone to each of the rooms. The gold and white balloon garlands with hints of greenery looked so beautiful cascaded along the edge of this entry table.
Then local Miami Florist Trias created all of the floral arrangements for the party. I wanted oversized loose and predominately green arrangements in antique inspired vases. They created just that. Also on the entry table was a welcome sign with hand written calligraphy by MiaWritesCo. It’s always so important to have my party hashtags in the forefront for bloggers to note, and this party hashtag was #FHHostedEvents in case you want to see more on instagram! Of course guests were greeted with refreshments. I served DearMom canned white wine in a large crystal bowl for guests to sip as they entered the party.
The Activity
The bloggers then headed into the “Cheese Board Station”. The first table was a table full of beautiful Vagabond House cheese boards. Each of their cheese boards is beautiful with incredibly unique polished pewter designs {from figs, to pears, to crabs} which illuminate against a richly colored wood.
After selecting a board guests moved on to the over-flowing cheese table. I partnered with Cabot Creamery for this event and they have SUCH an incredible and wide selection of cheeses to choose from. Classic Cheddars, Specialty Cheeses, and even Flavored Cheeses that range from Habanero to “Everything Bagel”. For party platters I have been a long time fan of their pre-sliced “cracker cuts”!!
After guests selected their cheeses, they selected their garnishes, crackers, nuts, fresh and dried fruits, olives, and prosciutto. We then headed into the dining room todo our tutorial.
The Instructions
I recommended that each guest choose 3 types of cheeses. One cheese that’s a classic, one that’s exotic, and one with a different texture or color. I always say to style your cheese in three different shapes. One can be a block or triangle, the other sliced squares {perfect for stacking on a cracker – here I recommend the “cracker cuts”}, and the other cubed {perfect with a toothpick}. I had the girls prep their cheeses on a separate cutting board so their “display boards” would stay clean.
Next up: choosing the “greenery” or garnish to use as a base, like rosemary, thyme, or eucalyptus. Lastly, styling and having fun with toppings. Finish off your cheeses by sprinkling pomegranates or drizzling with agave.
Also given it’s Fall, I offered a selection of Fall themed favorites. Pumpkin and sweet potato crackers, honey roasted almonds, cranberries, and of course mini white pumpkins as decor.
The Lunch
After we finished our activity, we casually sat around the family room enjoying a light lunch. I created a buffet of Fall themed sandwiches on my Vagabond House two tiered cake stands {the perfect way to dress up sandwiches if you ask me!}. And then I placed stacks of my Villeroy & Boch Switch 3 Cordoba salad plates for guests to help themselves. I also served a kale and dried cranberry salad which I placed Villeroy & Boch Boston Colored Green Bowls for guests to help themselves as well. For dessert I served apple cider donuts which I displayed on an acrylic donut wall from Esther O.
Decor & Details
I know I mentioned that balloon company PJB Creations did all of the gold and white balloon garlands earlier, but I wanted to share a closer look at the garlands they did in the “Cheese Station” as well as for the “Photo Booth”.
Because this was a blogger party I created a Photo Booth “Flat Lay Station” for guests to take photos of their finished cheese plates. I placed a console in a prime lit spot nearby a window and placed all of the accessories on the bookshelf alongside it.
A Cheese board isn’t complete without the accessories. I placed textured placemats and beautiful napkins in the photo booth for the girls to lay and fold alongside their boards for their photos {the Kim Seybert Dart Placemat in Silver and the Tangier Napkin in white, gold, and silver}. Specialty items like cheese picks finish off the look!
The Gifting Station
I always end my parties with a gift bag but after my last Blogger event I realized that guests MUCH prefer to pick out or as I call it “shop” for their gift bag items. So I created a little “Gift Shop” for gals to choose their take homes. Gifts included mini bottles of liqueur from Jackson Morgan, cheese picks from Vagabond House, a set of embroidered cocktails napkins from Kim Seybert, cheese knives from Julia Knight Collection, and colorful tassel napkin rings from Mode Living.
These adorable custom gift bags were from the Etsy Shop Rachel Carl.
Well, I have to say it was another fabulous FH event. Thank you to all of the incredible bloggers that attended.
