I think this is my favorite Christmas tree to date!!
You guys know my love for soft blues runs strong year-long in our family room (see it decorated in this same color story of Serena & Lily pillows this past Spring here), but I usually think of this color as a seasonal one and definitely not one associated with winter. So when I started planning for this year’s holiday look, I envisioned a “white and gold story” with different textures of white pillows, a white flocked tree, and gold and metallic ornaments. The room was beautiful and very elegant (see what I created here), but when I took photos I wasn’t feeling the “wow factor” I had hoped for. With Hanukkah approaching, I thought I would sprinkle in a few blues, maybe a pillow here and an ornament there. Well one sleepless night later, my family awoke to this!!!
It started with these Frontgate ornaments, and then led to grabbing Serena & Lily Pillows from the linen closest, and then I remembered I had seen a gal use ginger jars on her mantel, and thought why not get those out too. Lastly, I wanted more on the walls, so I added flocking spray to my Martha Stewart gold tinsel wreath and hung it from our mirror with a blue ribbon that I also used on our presents for a finishing touch.
Mixing and matching these blues with my textured whites and metallic and twinkle-lights, and golds, the “wow factor” started happening, making me realize this is better than I could have imagined. As my photographer Simply Lively said, it’s really unique. And I agree, it’s SO me!! So, I hope you love our 2020 Family Room for the Holidays (and I promise not to change it again!!). Thanks for stopping by!!
