Guest Bedroom Reveal

As a follow up to my last post…. for some time now I have had on my bucket list to update a spare room we have on our houseโ€™s first level. So when my in-laws told us they were planning to visit, I thought this would be the perfect deadline. The more I thought about the space, the more I realized the room was the perfect place for a guest room. Away from the kids and the commotion, close the garage for an easy exit, and with itโ€™s own bathroom, it was everything a guest could need.

After a bit of work…. ripping out some built-in’s, changing out the lighting, painting, re-carpetting, and choosing the right mattress, I was ready to tackle the decorating!! I was so excited to start the process, and was even more thrilled that Overstock partnered with me to bring the vision to life. For those of you who have been long time followers of FH, you know I have been a long time lover of Overstock’s quality and the wide selection. {For a look at a previous bedroom tour with Overstock products, see here.}

Now before scrolling, I will say you must click here and see all the before images so you can truly appreciate this new space!!

Ok, ready?! Here’s a look at the new room…

Ok so what did I chooseโ€ฆ a sea of neutrals obviously!! For the bed, I instantly fell in love with this gorgeous Upholstered Wingback Panel Bed. The headboard comes with tufted look with silver nail heads that looks really elegant.

Then I told you I replaced the poor ceiling lighting for one light fixture and I immediately fell in love with the clean lines of this box shaped steel pendant. It makes a real statement in the room and gives the room a modern finish. (A few notes…  while itโ€™s called a soft gold color, it really does have more of a silver finish, and for size, the measurement is 25 inches high x 16.75 inch diameter, which is perfect for a bedroom or small foyer.)

Next, I love anything with lucite legs. For one, they look so chic, but two, they are fantastic in a smaller space because they give the illusion of taking up less space. So for lucite legs I found my nightstand, which is too cute (itโ€™s 27″L x 18″W x 24โ€H so not too high) and very functional with two drawers which I always think is nice for guests for hiding away any jewelry or personal items for the trip.

Because the room is relatively simple and neutral in colors, I thought the bedside table lamp would be the perfect place to add a fun “pop”. Sticking in the grey family it kept with the softness of the room while definitely standing out! Sold in a pack of two (sadly I didnโ€™t have space for the second one, I am excited to find somewhere else in the house for the second lamp!}, I love this little accent for the space.

Back to the luciteโ€ฆThen over by my doorway / closet (which is where I ripped out some built-ins… see the before in this post), I placed a Velvet Tufted Bench with Lucite Legs and OMG the โ€œAquaโ€ color is AMAZING. With a silvertone nailhead trim and the velvet material, this bench looks so chic!! Placed alongside the closet, itโ€™s the perfect place to place luggage or the perfect spot to sit to put on your shoes!

And lastly, is my favorite piece in the room, the mirror! With the bamboo detail, it gives the room that beach house getaway feel which is exactly the vibe I want for people visiting!

I am so in love with how this room came out… cozy and serene, while being totally functional! Thank you Overstock for the gorgeous pieces!!
