I haven’t shared some inspirational photos in a while, so as I prepare for a range of outdoor photoshoots, I wanted to show you guys some of the beautiful work I came across in the process. Everyone asks me where I get inspired for my own tablescapes, and my answer totally ranges. Sometimes I am inspired by a single floral arrangement, and other times, a unique detail {for example, how cute are the “apple placards” in the next photo!}. I will say that I am constantly pinning photos on my Pinterest boards and often times printing them out to have on hand as I head to my local flower shop! So this Spring, I have noticed some commonalities across my favorite tables and I wanted to share my notes with those you also planning something special… here they are:
- It’s time to embrace woods and natural surfaces of outdoor tables rather than hiding them under tablecloths. Table runners however, placed down the center, are making a come back!
- Incorporate natural elements into each place setting, whether you place a sprig of rosemary or a single flower over top a napkin, or use a piece of fruit as your place card holder.
- Create a centerpiece of flowers and candles… especially for parties that start in the late afternoon and transition to evening. The candle light is so romantic!
- When it comes to creating or buying flower arrangements, think romantic, whimsical, and bright. Arrangements should look loose and a bit unkept, as if you picked them in the garden and threw them in a vase.
- Also on the topic of flowers, choosing several smaller/tighter/lower arrangements spread across the length of the table is preferred, say goodbye to one large arrangement in the center.
