I don’t know about you guys, but one of my favorite downtime activities is browsing Instagram for beautiful talented accounts… usually ones that fall in the flower and event industry. Well one day I stumbled across B Floral’s page, a New York City based Floral & Event Design Company, and I just couldn’t stop clicking “like”. From detail shots of their floral arrangements to party recaps, I quickly wanted to know more about the brand and headed to their blog. There I learned that B Floral has worked with brands like Moroccan Oil and Henri Bendel, they have been featured in INSTYLE and Elle Decor for stunning parties, and they have worked on projects at Coachella as well as Super Saturday {click here and scroll to the Coachella recap… the flowers are to die!!}.  I asked founder Bronwen Smith if she would be interest in sharing one of her stunning tablescapes as our newest FH Dinner Party Series guest, when she said yes I knew we were in for a treat! Her tablescape could not be more perfectly timed as I feel we all are craving spring flowers!! Read on for more about B Floral and this magical display!

FH: Tell me a quick bio of how you came to start your company.

BGPS: I originally worked in the world of finance on Wall Street but quickly realized it wasn’t my true passion. With my business background and a decade of experience in sports and events, I knew that I was built for a career in event design. After exploring my creative side through floral design training, I was able to blend together all facets of my education and event background to start B Floral. Over the years we have worked with amazing clients in industries ranging from to fashion to finance. In the past few months, we’ve created flower crowns for SoulCycle, editor gifts for Henri Bendel, and monochromatic centerpieces for Harper’s Bazaar. I love working with fresh, inspiring brands to see their unique visions become reality through florals.

FH: What is your entertaining style? Traditional, Contemporary, Seasonal?

BGPS: I typically opt for what I call a traditional-modern style of entertaining. I like to bring in modern elements to a traditional set-up. I love throwing classic dinner parties and cocktail parties while utilizing a modern aesthetic. My personal style typically lends itself to clean lines, structured arrangements, and sleek vases. However, B Floral customizes clients’ arrangements according to style preference, flower preference, and the overall aesthetic of the client’s vision.

FH: How often do you entertain and for how many guests?

BGPS: I try to entertain two to three times per season. The amount of guests always varies. I love having small cocktail parties at my apt in Chelsea and larger gatherings during the summer at my house in the Hamptons. I always like to bring in a special element. For example, for summer parties in the Hamptons, I’ll bring in food trucks, entertainment, or samplings from local restaurants.

FH: Do you have a go-to recipe or dish {or do you avoid cooking at all costs}?

BGPS: I’m not the biggest cook but I do love to bring in specialties from an array of unique New York City eateries for my gatherings. I try to switch up the theme of every new menu so my guests immerse themselves in a new culinary experience each and every dinner party I host!

FH: Do you have a go-to cocktail? If you do, can you share the recipe!

BGPS: I’m very much a champagne lover, so I’m usually drawn to a champagne cocktail! A simple, refreshing, and colorful go-to is a “Tickled Pink”- just add pomegranate juice and a lime slice to a flute filled with champagne.

FH: Did something inspire you for today’s table? A certain color, flower, plate?

BGPS: As I began the design process for this dinner party, ‘Jungle Book’ kept coming to mind. I wanted something over the top, but also natural and feminine.
