MackenZie-Childs Summer Kick-Off Party with the Thistle & Bee Collection

I am so excited to partner with MacKenzie-Childs and the launch of their new Thistle and Bee Collection right in time for Summer entertaining. Clearly the perfect match for an outdoor party, I whipped up some of my favorite summer dishes to compliment there various hand-crafted pieces from the collection. I am excited to share what I created today!!

For my tablescape, I chose the Thistle & Bee Charger under a Thistle & Bee Dinner Plate, and the classic Check Flatware. I created my favorite summer salad {arugula topped with 2 grapefruit slices, diced mango, pomegranate seeds, topped with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette} and served on the Thistle & Bee Salad Plate in the ‘Forget me Not’ Pattern. For little pops of color on the table, I filled Courtly Check Enamel Colanders in size small with lemons and limes. Then a table this bright and happy needed a fabulous centerpiece, so I chose lush peach English Garden Roses!

Behind my dining table I displayed our lunch on the buffet, which I packed with various MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check pieces {the classic and most well-known of the prints!}. I made Baked Lemon Butter Tilapia {recipe here} and served it on the Courtly Check Serving Platter {a great large platter for entertaining. Then I made an easy Summer Pasta, a Penne Pasta {made with asparagus and topped with cherry tomatoes, basil, and olive oil; great to serve warm or at room temperature}. I took my pasta straight from the stovetop to the table in the Courtly Check Enamel 3 Qt. Salute Pan {yes, it’s so pretty but it’s functional!}. Then for dessert, I filled {my favorite piece!!}, the Courtly Check Enamel Two Tier Sweet Stand, with tons of yummy sweets like cupcakes, cookies, and brownies.

Lunch is usually so casual, so once everyone sits, I just bright the feast right over to the table so we can enjoy it family style. All together it really couldn’t be a more gorgeous and colorful spread!!

The MacKenzie-Childs drink dispenser, called the Courtly Check Beverage Hostess, is probably the most popular piece for any party! I love to welcome guests with a glass full of ice cold lemonade, topped with edible flowers {a party trick I am loving right now; I buy mine at Whole Foods!!}.

Thank you to MacKenzie-Childs for partnering on this post!! Cheers to Summer!
