Planning the Citrus Themed Swim Week Event

I am so excited to share the photos from the Miami Swim Week Influencer Brunch that Kristin Chambless of Color by K and myself co-hosted, but before I dive in, I wanted to share the inspiration board we created for the event. So many of you ask me about my party planning methods / where I seek inspiration / Β how it all comes together…. so this is a peek into my creative planning side. I love creating these boards for all of my events and I find a lot of the imagery on Pinterest {follow me on Pinterest here} as well as company catalogues and on Instagram. By creating a board / collage, I am able to keep the decor and coloration consistent throughout. I take this board with me to the flower shop, to the grocery store, and more – it helps me stay focused and not choose things just because I like them but rather because they compliment the theme.

My Advice…

I tell anyone who is planning a party to:

1. Create their own mood board whether it’s on pinterest or with a cork board and

2. Keep a check list of everything you need for the event.

For this event the theme was Citrus so we started with a list for our table… what furniture we would use, what would the centerpiece be, down to what plates and glasses and napkins. We then looked for small details to make the display special {like this bottom left corner image of the name card delicately placed in a peach}. For the menu, we shared this vision board with our caterer so he understood we wanted sliced citrus fruits on our salad and for everything to be bright and fruity. For drinks we wanted light and refreshing, so we chose a bubbly wine and a few infused waters served in drink dispensers {again like the inspiration above!}. And for decor throughout I loved the idea of small lemon trees or lemon branches and floral arrangements in these same hues of orange and yellow.

Now honestly, do you guys like hearing about my party planning process? Or are you more interested in just seeing the final results? Let me know in my comments and stay tuned for tomorrow because I am SO looking forward to sharing the full party on the blog!!
