Thanksgiving Bar Cart & Cocktail : For Him

As a continuation to yesterday’s post, I wanted to share a “his” and “hers” cocktail and bar cart story for your upcoming Holiday entertaining. With Thanksgiving just a week away I thought this cocktail was seasonally appropriate due to the gin, but realistically this cocktail is great for gin lovers year-round, so feel free to use this at Christmas or New Years.

As for the decor, I swapped over to mint julep cups from Mark & Graham that have been a staple for my manly cocktails since the Kentucky Derby. I placed the cocktails on a circular monogramed wooden tray {also Mark & Graham} to complete the look.

Here is the recipe for this Rosemary Gin Fizz Cocktail which I found on InspiredTaste.net. My advice would be to go overboard on the garnish to look a lush as these photos!

Ingredients {for 4 servings}:

  • 1 cup (8 oz) gin
  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (2 ounces) rosemary simple syrup (See recipe below)
  • 1 1/2 cups (12 ounces) club soda
  • 4 lemon slices (garnish)
  • 4 rosemary sprigs (garnish)

Ingredients for Home-made Rosemary Simple Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 rosemary sprig

Directions:

For Rosemary Simple Syrup: Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan then bring to a boil. Cook, while stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Remove pan from the heat, add rosemary, and then let steep for 1 hour. Discard the rosemary sprig.

For Cocktail: Stir gin, lemon juice and the rosemary simple syrup in a pitcher. Refrigerate. When ready to serve, divide between 4 glasses filled with ice, add club soda then garnish with lemon slices and rosemary sprigs.

Cheers! I look forward to sharing more Thanksgiving entertaining ideas throughout next week!
